Just being curious, I would love to have a Disney wedding, just not sure I want to get married again,:D . How have you all decided this is where you wanted to have the ceremony? Was it a mutual agreement or did you twist his arm. I just think it would be so magical and lovely to marry in a place I love to visit and feel extra special.

Mutual agreement. That's where we met, that's where he proposed. Didn't take any arm twisting or persuasion :bounce: :marry:

Was never any doubt for us! It's our favourite place to go/be and once you've seen a wedding there, I don't know how anyone could have one any place else :)

Katie, we were dirt poor and living in a run down apartment when we first got married, in a rather small ceremony, with no honeymoon. After 5 years of 'they'll never make it' to another 5 years of 'well, I guess they are doing okay' to anoterh 5 years of 'geez, has it been THAT long?' we sort of looked at each other and said 'you know, we just gotta do it...' and are toying with the idea. House keeps flooding and we are now talking about college, so we might have to wait another 10 years, but after seeing Keith's and JoJo's and Bec's weddings, I would love to do a vow renewal at Disney.

It was my DH's 2nd wedding. We are not religious so a church wedding didn't matter. My parents would do anything for me. He didn't want a big "to do" so we invited a few guests to WDW and celebrated there! Oh, and I'd already planted the seed about a WDW wedding WAY before we were even engaged!!
(and I know he loved it! :) )

That would be so wonderful for the 2 of you! I hope some day it happens.
Sounds liek everyone else had wonderful days as well. I think it would be neat I would be happy going to see some one elses there. I have no desire to re-marry right now, I owuld be happy finding a guy the likes to visit there though!:D

That's right, Rosie, I forgot it was you who got married less than a year ago too. It seems like there's been so many Disney weddings around here. I never tire of looking at any of the pictures though.

It all happened one evening a few years back when we were watching Illuminations... She mumbled that "One day she would get married at WDW with a dessert party". So a few years later, she planned an Intimate Wedding at DWD but then I saw a show on Custom Wedding at WDW with all the trimming and FOOD TASTING... so I changed it from Intimate to Custom... Not that she complained about it...:)

Ours was in 2005 and I had the coolest groom's cake...

I think I would have to twist DBF's arm, tie him up and drag him all the way there.....

We have always said that we would never get married abroad, given that we have a lot of friends between us and a lot of family - and the ones who can't come would probably get in a huff.... how do you get around that???

But since I have seen the pictures from Joanne's wedding and then went scouring for more around UOG I would love a custom wedding at UOG! But DBF is firm :( He doesn't think many people would come but I argued that if they really are our friends, then they will make the effort - plus would be an excuse to have a big party when we get home for those who couldn't come :D Plus he thinks it would cost a bomb...

Perhaps when he gets there and we go snooping around the area of the Wedding Pavillion he will fall in love with it!! He has dropped some hints about proposing there, so what better place to get married?!!?

joanne

Tazfoto, you can't say that and not show us a picture of the groom's cake!

Hayley, I'm sure once he sees the wedding pavilion he'll fall in love with it you'll be able to twist his arm
Maybe you could drag him into Franck's too, and show him the kind of cakes he could have

Hi Mickeymac

I am assuming that the picture you commented about is the one in my avatar and profile? It was done with a flashlight.

I will post the grooms cake when I get a chance.

He did say I could do whatever I want, just as long as he gets a top hat and stick LOL - I could say that everywhere has ran out and only WDW have them in stock

I loved looking at JoJo's pictures, where can I find some others? Are they deeply hidden?

Mixture of things really. We had been looking at hotels, country Manor houses etc..at home for wedding and I just didn't feel completely right about any of them. Then on a WDW vacation that same year, we were going across to MK on the ferryboat, both looked across and the pavillion, then looked at each other and together said THATS IT!!! Thats where we are getting ,married! We really couldn't hink why we hadn't done it before.

And moreover, Disney were the only people I would trust to do things absolutely right, and they did.

And the pavillion is the most beautiful place. When we went for our planning meeting 3months before the wedding, my coordinator took us in and I stood there and cried!! I simply felt honoured to be in there... I know Im a bit daft...but.. it really is a special place and the perfect place to start our lives together.

The wedding pavillion is breathtaking  The first time I went in there I don't know what I was expecting, but I was stunned :wow: at the high ceiling and the light airy feel to it.

I gathered that. Thought the idea was really original. Wicked cool.

Bec, first time I walked in the Pavillion, it was just to photograph it for work, and I cried too. There's gotta be a tear trigger by the door or someting, as my husband did, too. :hehe:

 It is an awesome place Paula. I think it has been referred to as the jewel in Disney's crown.

I feel honoured to have been in there when I hear the oohhs and aaahhsss when you are crossing over to MK on the monorail or the ferryboat. I always think quietly to myself " I got married there you know..."
DH and I smile at each other every time and I always get a lump in the back of my throat...:tears:

Sorry I've gone on... but Im so glad to have people here how can share how I feel about the place.
Here's a pic of the pavillion the day we were married, our names are on the board there. PUGH/WILLIAMS.

Bec, that's exactly how I felt! Everytime we passed I wanted to shout out rather than thinking it quietly

I'd seen it so many times before so kind of got used to how magical and beautiful it was. Although saying that, I still notice how wonderful and special it is each time.
When we had the rehearsal there I was going about my merry way, and I turned round to see our familes stood open mouthed looking around in awe. I knew they'd seen it in pictures, so it didn't occur to me how different it actually was in real life and how they must be feeling to see it for the first time.

I feel incredibly lucky and like Bec, honoured, to be one of the brides to have been able to get married there.

Katie, you really need to take your other half there, I'm sure the minute he walks through those doors he'll be begging you for a wedding there! :hehe:

 I don't have an other half yet, still looking for the Disney man of my dreams since my divorce. It was a joke how I was talking about having a double date coming up hopefully next week with our schedules and then I was tllking about Disney weddings.:rotfl: If I decide to take the plunge again there is no doubt this is where it will be, and the good thing is the guy who is interested right now has kids and loves to take them to Disney!!! Thats a big plus!

Can just anyone go to Francks?! I know I won't be able to see the Wedding Pavillion, even though I REALLY want to - we might be able to go for a snoop after our 1900 PF Breakfast....

I just fell in love with the pictures of it - and I think it just looks magical!! I want DBF to fall in love with it too :D

Hi,

Francks usually is open by appointment BUT if there is someone there (usually there is...) you can go in and take a look. So take a walk there and see.

If the Wedding Pavillion gate and doors are open (which it usually is), you can also go in and take a look, so on your walk to Francks you may be able to do both... :)

Since you liked the WP... take a look..:)

Do be careful though, as the gate is open even if there is a wedding going on. The doors may also be open if the wedding hasn't started yet. Check first to see if you can see wedding guests hanging around, or a limo or bus parked outside or in the parking lot, or another good sign is a photographer's tripod at the end of the walkway. A big giveaway is the time on the wedding announcement board :hehe:

Joanne, that is one of my favorite pictures of the week. Everyone coming through the door, pointing, jaws on the ground. You can 'feel' the amazement. I love the expression on you Mum's face.

Katie, you're cracking me up!!! Screening potential date partners by the Disney Q rating! :rotfl:

My choosing was for sentimental reasons..I got engaged the day before my best friend died...She and I went to disney every year..As I made plans for a local wedding..I felt uneasy and incredibly depressed.. I thought back to when we went to her sisters wedding at Disney and how much fun we had and how many pictures i had of her smiling.. I do believe that when I looked at my wall of disney pictures of her and myself I instantly said to my husband... That is what I want to do... he said as long as I was happy and it was not too upsetting we could do it.. and so we did and it was the fairytale I had dreamed of...And yes... when I go next time I will say to myself.. I got married here...and smile a little more... http://images.costcophotocenter.com/3473246%3B4%7Ffp4%3Enu%3D3243%3E595%3E737%3EWSNRCG %3D3232489%3B3%3B626nu0mrj

you know what? I'm 18 and I've dreamed of a disney wedding since I was 11. I saw a couple getting married at Disneyland and I was just overcome with happiness. that's when I knew! Now it'll be a deal breaker! Good Luck!
