 It'll be interesting to see what how their rooms compare to the Disney deluxes. The location is excellent so if the Hilton has decent priced rooms too, it'll open up a whole new world of options to those who want the offsite size rooms but want to stay within Disney property for a decent rate. :fingers:

Waldorf-Astoria trivia
The Waldorf-Astoria Bonnet Creek will be the first Waldorf-Astoria to be built since the current one in New York, which opened in 1931. Here's a look back at the Manhattan hotel, its many firsts and some of its famous guests.
- The Empire Room, which was once the premier entertainment club in New York, helped launch the careers of Diana Ross and Frank Sinatra.
- The U.S., Great Britain, France and Russia hammered out details of the World War II peace treaty in a Waldorf Towers suite in 1946.
- First hotel to abolish the "Ladies Entrance."
- First hotel to introduce room service.
- Only hotel to be the residence of three five-star generals: Dwight Eisenhower, Douglas MacArthur and Omar Bradley.
- Presidential Suite has hosted every U.S. president since Herbert Hoover.
- First hotel to be included in the lyrics of a Broadway show, Anything Goes by Cole Porter. The lyrics of "You're the Top" proclaim, "You're a Waldorf Salad."
- Maitre d'hotel Oscar Tschirky created the first Waldorf salad in the 1890s. The original contained apples, celery and mayonnaise. Chopped walnuts later became an integral part.

I love Waldorf salad.
I'll be happy to try out the WA. I somehow think they'll have Disney prices as well.

Wyndham have also confirmed they will build a resort at Bonnet Creek.
I think Disney are going to have to step up their game with all this competition in their back yard ;) The Wyndham will have 80 family suites sleeping 6 and all rooms will have flatscreen TV's, fridges, microwaves and cofee-makers.

Paula how close is this to Disney?
There are still good quality hotels close by that offer better value than Disney, such as the DTD hotels and the Swan/Dolphin but it still seems that Disney can continue to charge high prices. It would be interesting to see if they do affect Disney, it would be nice to see Disney's room costs come down due to the increased competition :)

Bonnet Creek is a piece of land that is surrounded by Disney property on 3 sides. The entrance is actually on Lake Buena Vista Drive. :)
Folks seem to be worrying that they will build towers visible from Epcot though
