View Full Version : Rude(?) Question Alert!!

Hey everyone,
Please excuse me for asking such a personal question, if you dont want to discuss this, nobody's forcing you!!
I was looking at disneyweddings.com the other day, and within half an hour managed to fill up a wish book, costing around $30,000:eek:
This included just about every over the top option they have, including personal fireworks, etc, but I was just wondering if any of those who have experienced the magic of a Disney Wedding would mind sharing how many people were there, and roughly how much it cost (to the nearest couple of thousand if you dont want to be specific). Lastly, did any of you pay for everyones hotel, or did they all pay for their own?
If you don't want to discuss it here please PM me. I won't be getting married for a good few years, but if its gonna cost an arm and a leg, I'd better start saving!

When I priced my dream wedding, I ended up at $27,000. Considering that's around what the average wedding costs in my area, I wasn't surprised  I know I won't have that kind of budget when the time comes though

I'd rather not say, as some members from here were guests and it's probably not good etiquette to tell them how much it cost
But yes, it did cost and arm and a leg, so you'd better get saving hard!
We found it was the food and drink that made up a large part of the cost. And as there are food and drink minimums, the only way you can keep that cost down is to invite less people.
Of course, the extras do add up. The coach, confetti canon, floral, DJ, Mickey & Minnie, etc. It's very easy to get carried away and we originally had stuff on our BEO that we had to cut. We had planned to have caricature artists at the reception. But had to cut them due to budget restrictions. Looking back, I'm glad we did, as there was so much going on at the reception there wouldn't have been time for each person to get a caricature done, even though it would have been something nice for them to take away.
You do really need to think hard about what you really want, and prioritise what's most important. Work out your budget and stick to it
Lastly, did any of you pay for everyones hotel, or did they all pay for their own?
 It was bad enough having to find the money for ours, let alone anyone else's!
They all paid for their own. It was a holiday for them, not just a wedding, and many stayed for 1-2 weeks. I've never heard of any Disney wedding couples paying for their guests hotels, so I wouldn't worry about that :)

Thanks for the tips Joanne!! I'm just gonna throw a penny in the water at WDW and hope for the best!!
I guess we could compromise - wedding and wedding week at WDW and a 2 week honeymoon at Atlantis in the Bahamas - well that's MY kind of compromise!!

It gets very costly...I would keep it to immediately family and closest dearest friends...I paid a lot.. in the middle sort of cause I was able to make an intimate ceremony upgrade.. they don't do it for everyone tho.. but i can say anything over 10 guests you pay for in an intimate,,lets just say roughly 100 dollars per guest to attend...that is just to see the ceremony...the package is about 5,000...then there is the champagne and cake which I had to upgrade..then we had a private dinner at Park Fare...which was a buffet but made more sense to us then a Full Reception..all in all you are looking at a minimum of 15,000 I had 28 guests and paid roughly give or take a few thousand around this number...and that is with making my attendants and groomsmans flowers and all the corsages etc....sooooo I would get to saving...oh yes and that does not include anything like our photography package...how could i be soooo daft.. that was like 1700...not including my album...that was just for the magic kingdom shoot and an extra hour added to my package...I wanted the horse and carriage but did not want to spend the extra sooo we just got the limo for extra time...its very expensive but definately worth it....

I watched a "Food Channel" show yesterday about Dream Weddings...and this was at WDW. I'm telling you...what you get for these weddings, personally, I think is worth the cost. Jo..it said how much that carriage ride was!!!
I saw the process of the entire "getting this thing ready" and it's amazing!

I remember looking at the Disney weddings when I was getting married and it was way out of our price league. I think our wedding cost less than the carriage ride

My DH and I watched that show also Bev. It was amazing. That seems to be the Disney way though. Totally over the top, if you're willing to pay. That Alice tea party was cool. Joanne did you have one of those? That cake was amazing!

It all looked delicious. The Vodka Penne pasta looked good as well. What a dream to have a Disney wedding.

I did look into having the Mad Tea Party, but I think they wanted $10,000 before you even added the cost of the food :faint: So we scrapped that idea

The coach was worth every single penny, it was the most amazing feeling to ride in it

 $10,000 for a tea party! I'da picked the carriage ride as well. It would be so neat to not have to worry about money and go over the top for a disney wedding. I could really wear it out with the festivities!!!
