I'm a newbie, considering a DVC membership. What am I looking at, cost-wise. We have 2 toddlers right now, so I guess we'd be interested in a 2 bdrm. Are the points about $100 each? What's the range for the monthly maintenance fee?

We're probably going to vacation at DW every 18-24 months - do these points carry over from year to year, to be used all at once for the vacation? i.e., if I buy 150 points now, if I wait every other year to vacation, will I be able to use 300 points every time we vacation?

The current cost is $98 but soon to go up to $101 per point.

Points can be banked (unused all or part) into the "next year," or "borrowed from the next year" if you need more for the year you are in.

So, if you don't use all (or any) of your points one year, you bank them into the next calendar year.

If you (like me :blush: ) used all your points in the current year, you can borrow from the next calendar year.

Using your points won't be hard. The point cost of accomodation is driven by the size of the villa AND the season in which you choose to vacation.

I don't know the range of membership dues, sorry. :sorry:

DH and I just bought 200 points at SSR at the beginning of the year. I checked my online statement and its showing our annual dues for this year to be $730. That is pro-rated for 335 days, since we committed to the purchase at the end of January. I think it comes out to about $4 per point.
