View Full Version : What to do After the Wedding Meal???

Hi All
As you have probably heard from Blackeyed, we have managed to book our date, venue, meal at Citrecos, Magic Kingdom Photo shoot, etc, etc all with not much help I must say from either Virgin or our Disney Wedding Co-ordinator (who I will not name :) )
But as we have booked dinner for 5.30pm it would be kind of early to finish our wedding day so we were thinking it would be nice to go somewhere after, but where could we go while all still wearing our wedding attire??
I decided I would give our Co-ordinator the benefit of the doubt and ask him a question that he couldn't answer either yes, no or here is the number you call them and ask his advice on where we would go. But alas and no big surprise I have had no reply from him.
So I am asking if anyone could possibly give us suggestions on what we should do, we have 12 people including us, only Blackeyed's Best Maid and her husband are staying on site so changing clothes are not an option for them and really I want to wear my dress for as long as I can :D.
I really, really appreciate any and all (well within reason) suggestions on what we could do.
Thanks

How about a fireworks cruise? The Grand 1 to see Wishes, or an IllumiNations cruise.
The parks are ruled out if you want to keep your wedding dress on :( But anything at the resorts - lounge bar, watch fireworks from beach.
About your wedding coordinator, if they are really that useless and aren't returning your calls, you could call and speak to their manager and explain your dissatisfaction.
Let us know how you get on :)

I know what I did after my wedding meal, but this is a family forum!

Thanks Joanne
I will set Blackeyed the task of trying to book the GF Fireworks cruise, as this sounds absolutely fantastic, and would finish off the day perfectly.
Re: the co-ordinator, we were going to call and change him, but as Blackeyed said we have basically organised everything now, so would it be worth it and we are also a tad worried about comeback if we did. It is not that he is unfriendly just not as helpful as we would have expected.
Oh and to answer BenJones70, that goes without saying

When is the wedding?
I wouldn't worry about comeback. It happens from time to time, and if you wanted to swap to a different co-ordinator, they wouldn't hold it against you :)

The Wedding is 1st December 2006 (and counting down already)
I should maybe get Blackeyed to contact the Wedding Co-ordinator department, as he is far, far more diplomatic than I am.
I just want things to go well, which I am sure they will but I don't have too much faith with the Co-ordinator. Though I think we actually meet a Virgin co-ordinator when out there but we are not sure:confused: Communication is a wonderful thing!

You will meet your Virgin Wedding coordinator after check in.You will be given a time and a venue. The one I had is fantastic, and we've kept in touch since, she's a lovely lady. Any issues or problems that are still unsolved by then she will iron out for you.
As for after the wedding, as you only have 12 people, would you consider booking chef's domaine in Citricos for your dinner?
We had our dinner res for 5:30pm also and had the place for the whole night, We finished off everything at about 9:30 and to be honest were so tired by then, we were ready to retire to our rooms.

Well we have a slight change of plan, we have now booked the Chefs Domain at Citrico's :wiggle:
We have decided to maybe just have a nightcap or 2 :D in the GF after dinner, after what Bec said about the time they left Citrico's this maybe the best option.
Oh and am a tad excited, I received an e-mail from Virgin today (shock) saying that they have booked my hair and make up for our photo shoot yipeeee.
Bec, I hope our Virgin Co-ordinator out there will be as good as the one you had, it would be nice to eventually have someone that seems to know what they are doing
Thanks

Oh good! Im glad you've booked Chef's domaine, you wont be disappointed. Would you like to see some pics or would you rather it be a surprise?
Im sure you'll have no problems with your coordinator Pepper. They are really on the ball out there.
Great news your hair and make up are booked.

Bec, am I right in thinking that there are just 2 wedding co-ordinators out in Orlando? Yvonne and someone else? (actually the "someone else" was our co-ordinator but i cant think of her name? it might have been karen but im not sure?!) Anyway - if you have kept in touch with her, do you know if they have got the new website up and running yet? When we met her in November she said that the 2 of them were doing a new website with all the information on that was needed, flowers, cake etc? Just wondering?!

Yes just two.
Didn't know if I was to mention their names or not.
The website has been put on hold due to the busy wedding season unfortunately, but they are still intending on doing it.
I'll let you know when I have more info on it.
I'm on my way to pm you.

Hi Bec
I really appreciate the offer of the pics, but I think we are going to leave this one as a surprise.
OH and if you get any info regarding the Virgin Co-ordinator's website, I would be really interested to know, I know that most of our stuff has been done, but....... you never know it is a girls prerogative to change her mind :rotfl: and as you can see it has been done once.

LOl - we were so classy. When we got back from Park Fare we changed into shorts and t-shirts and went to play crazy golf! I certainly couldnt wear wedding attire there!
