I'd go with mvmcp....for the same reasons that Mike likes mnsshp  :)
I don't think the atmosphere etc comes across when you watch a dvd of a particular parade etc....you have to be there in person to appreciate it more.

Do both :D

diane i would love to do both but doing 2 more holidays with the kids will work out quite a bit so think it has to be one or the other thou i am swayed towards mvmcp:)

We've done both and IMHO MNSSHP is best. The whole halloween theme with characters and guests dressed up is fab and 'HalloWishes' was excellent. It also coincides with my favourite Epcot event - the Food and Wine Festival.

....but MVMCP is also very good

Tracy, have you actually seen either of the two on DVD.....or actually been there?
I must admit, I would like to actually go and see mnsshp one day but.....we can only do the one and I really, really love all of the Xmas shows and parades...unbelievable atmosphere.

I have to agree with Alec on this. I much perfer MNNSHP. There seems to be so much more going on and happening and the characters dressed up is so cool

tracy im re-doing the dvd of MNSSHP & MVMCP for you in a minute so you can see both before you go.

it baffled me as to how the first disc broke, you really have to exert some force to break one

IMHO MVMCP doesn't have the same atmosphere as MNSSHP. There's more going on at MNSSHP and being in the dark with everyone dressed up adds to it. HalloWishes is fab! :witch: The one thing I did find was that when we went in early December, it didn't feel Christmassy enough, there was no buzz and I was gutted we weren't there for the real thing. It totally ruined Christmas once we were home with the post Florida blues :hehe:

Not tried the halloween yet but we're doing both parties this year so will compare :wiggle: I can totally imagine the halloween one having the potential to be better although I'm totally biased towards christmas with the decorations etc :)

I do prefer early december and found the actual christmas there to be a bit of an anti-climax :/ stupidly busy and it just didn't feel as special as christmas day at home with family etc. Probably different with kiddos though. In fact the only thing we noticed for christmas day was a small bag of candy left on our door at the polynesian.

totally agree paula, about mnsshp atmosphere at night, does mvmcp not go on at night?

i think tho all the parks look superb and are much better at night and adds more to the atmosphere, with all the lights on etc even on non mnsshp/mvmcp nights are better imho

Yes, MVMCP is at night too, but MNSSHP just 'fits' better in the dark. I feel like MVMCP is more of a daytime event. That parade 'fits' in the sunshine and it's nicer to see it in daylight than at night. Just MHO of course. :D

i just watched MVMCP again whilst copying it to my dvd hard drive and i dont think i would go watch it in person tbth, i know you dont get the sames vibes as watching it in person but i just didnt take to it, i much prefer MNSSHP, great parade, great atmosphere and great audience participation too, with the dressing up i mean by that, i would defo go and see it again :)
