There are RUMOURS that Who Want's to be a Millionaire is to close on August 19th. Better 'Phone a Friend' now just in case.

I could think of worse things to close at MGM, but it's no great loss to us. :hehe:

Me neither. Not one of my 'Must do's'.

We always have at least one go but we're never very successful! I wouldn't be too bothered if it closed either. What do you think they would replace it with?

Don't know. Toy Story is being mentioned and so are anumber of other things, but it's all speculation.

Any new ride would be good. We don't bother going to MGM most trips.

I know. I do like MGM but I don't do ToT or RnR so anything new will be a bonus.

Oddly, the rumoured replacement titled 'Midway Mania' is a Toy Story themed attraction which is supposedly a cross between buzz lightyear in MK and Spiderman at IOA, at sort of 3D interactive shooter type ride. Sounds interesting but does WDW really need another toy story ride? Especially one so simililar to the other. Of course, its just speculation but seems to be gathering pace :worried:
As for WWTBAM closing, im neither here nor there, it was good while it lasted but it wasn’t a must-do in my opinion. That area of MGM is pretty quiet so a new, headline attraction round there would maybe thin out the crowds that currently fill Sunset Boulevard.

It does sound a bit 'samey' :worried: They could do with something that loads continuously to keep the queues moving.

Ooooh, I know what they need, a journey through magical lands ride. You could sit in a car and visit Narnia, Oz .......and anywhere else that might be magical but I can't think of anywhere. :hehe:

I liked Millionaire, but last trip couldn't even bribe anyone to go in with me  guess it won't be missed by my family!

I love Millionaire and I love it even more during ESPN weekend :) I've never managed to get in the hot seat but I"ve been pretty darn close a couple of times

I never got to, and may never get to, do Millionaire. Gues that's why it's rumored to be closing:shrug: Always sounded good but never got there.

One can only hope... :ohdear: Never liked this attraction and never liked the show on the tv. So, won't be missed by me!
I know many folks really like this though. It's always disappointing to lose something you and your family enjoy.

Definitely disappointing. I love this show and it's a must whenever I go to MGM. I like the actual show as well. Boy, this stinks.

I won't miss it, we've only done it once and that was in 2002. I hope they put something cool in it's place.
I'm sorry you guys are gonna miss it :(

Used to be one that was a "must do" for me...but the last few trips, I've given it a miss...perhaps it's just run its course...seems to happen faster with some rides than with others...
Onward and Upward...

yeah I think that says it all really.... it's run its course.
I have enjoyed it in the past but I'm ready for something new now :)

I hope they replace it with something that really 'excites' MGM. We always have at least a day here as we love Fantasmic! but have found on recent trips that we've 'done' all that we want to do by about 6pm and are repeating favourite attractions again.

I do think MGM needs some new rides. I do like going there but it does not thrill me as some of the other parks :)

They need to add attractions, not replace existing ones. Still one of my favourite things there is Indiana Jones, but it's soooooooo old.

I agree with everyone, there needs to be something new to pull some of the crowd away from the ToT corner & RRC, but I LOVE WWTBAM. I have been very lucky to make it to the hot seat twice (totally by luck - seriously). I have enjoyed knowing there is an air conditioned place I can sit back and relax (and perhaps hide from an afternoon shower).
I am torn, I like a sit down air conditioned place......... and being in the hot seat is great fun, but another thrill ride would be awesome..... just put it some place else - lol!

I will really miss Millionaire as this has very special memories for me as my DD (then aged 9) made it into the hot seat in 2004. We as a family really like MGM but I suppose everyone is different. Lets hope they replace it with something really spectacular.

i'll miss it if it does close- my dad consistently got into the top 10 every time. Once he sat on the front row where the 10 people sit.
Luckily I 'll be there just before 19th august so if it does close, i'll get 1 last go on it.

I join the "WILL miss it" group. My daughter also got into hot seat and it is one of our favorite memories. We were looking forward to it in 2007 with a new group of family members. OH well, if it is a worthy renovation, then I a m all for it.

Lights, Motors, Action! then :p
That's a show, not a ride :p
And perhaps I have a little grudge against it because that's where the Harry Potter ride was supposivly going to take place
