In a previous thread I mentioned that I called to try to reserve for November and was told that there were no openings for studio or one bedroom anywhere except Saratoga. We considered a cash stay at Poly. I was curious if we could stay cash at BCV and there is availability there and at BWV. Does Disney keep some rooms aside for cash only? Is there any chance that they may open up these rooms for points when it gets closer?

Ilovetink,
You may be able to do a cash stay at BCV-if there is availability. There is a separate inventory for cash--which arises from a small reserve DVC must maintain and also anytime a BCV member uses points for a non-DVC property. Example, when we used BCV points to stay at the DL hotel. That inventory is then opened up to cash reservations.
You could also ask to be put on the waiting list using points. You never know, something might open up.

I asked Member Services about this myself! We are booked at SSR, but on the waiting list for BCV for the first week in November. I looked on the WDW website and there were rooms available, I was told that those are Disney inventory rooms, which are separate from DVC inventory. So even if they don't get booked for cash, they won't go into the DVC inventory...

thanks. that's what I was afraid of. I actually was excited when DH mentioned staying at the Poly. I love that resort and we never stay there now that we are DVC members. However, DH has now said that he just can't spend money on the room when we could use points. We are debating staying at OKW or changing to January or February. Next year I will be sure to mark my calender and book on the first day I can.

ooh. I forgot. One more question. If you pay cash to stay at a DVC resort and book through DVC--what is the discount? Is the discount only on DVC resorts? Is it better than what an AP discount may be at a deluxe? Thanks.
