I have a soft spot for "Disney Americana" movies, the actual term for the idealized vision Disney had of american life.
I guess I should add Pollyanna, love the town celebration with the cakes, steamed corn, carrousel, games...

I don't have Tiger Bay. Never even heard of it. But I have the Trouble with Angels. I also have the sequel "Where Angels Go... Trouble Follows", even though it doesn't have Hayley Mills.
I just LOVE old movies! Or maybe I should say that I love the movies I grew up with!

Well guess I have to say 'Pirates of the Caribbean'............undoubtedly one of my favourite films of all time, it'll be one of my classics. Johnny Depp gave a performance of a lifetime in it. I'm defo off to see the 2nd one once the crowds are down a bit.
Going back to my childhood, guess it would be Bambi and The Rescuers.

Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Sleeping Beauty, Toy Story.
I also remember watching some Disney movies when I was a kid that always seemed to be on the TV around Christmas. I wonder if anyone else remembers them? The Gnomemobile, The Ugly Dachsund, The Cat From Outer Space. I have recently managed to get them on DVD to share with my DD when she gets a bit older. She will probably think they are funny now, but they remind me of a happy childhood!

If I had to choose a single one..it would have to be Bambi. Its one of the rare Disney films that deals with death..and life, not the usual "everyone lives happily ever after". The art in it still holds it above so many films, even today's films. The storyline is involving and is such a rollercoaster ride of emotions its hard not to cry at times. The musical score is on par with some of the best films of all time.
A close second and another childhood favorite, Jungle Book. Not that awefully re-hashed JBII, but the original Disney one (yes, I know that Disney wasn't the first JB, but it was the first animated one). The characters are memorable, believable and most are loveable. Again, the musical score is outstanding, especially the King Loui sequences. The artistic hand was not spared here either. You can see that the animators and BG painters loved their craft. No computer could ever replicate that love or talent.
And in third place, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I love Dick Van Dyke and this film was one of his best. Again the music sets it apart as does its style and acting. It shows that your imagination can take you anywhere if you just follow it! And the car was just so awesome looking :)
Runnerups: Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Mary Poppins, Brother Bear (McKinsy brothers had me rolling on the floor), Snow White, Alice in Wonderland and last but not least.. Dumbo

This is so hard! Your choices are all fab. My two favourites are Bambi and Dumbo but I get far too emotional watching both as I lost my Mum as a child so they tap into all that sadness. Of the ones I can watch without blubbing too much;
Snow White
The Lion King
Mary Poppins
of live action I love both of the Pirates films and look forward to the 3rd!
