 well done Mick, I'm sure the two of you will enjoy those extra treats ...... I have just been into our shed for a bucket ..... wonder how much I can save before we go away :)
Did the bank charge you to change the coins?
Did you bag it all before you took it?

Wow that is one heck of a lot of coinage. £828 must be about $1400. That should do very nicely.

I bet the cashier was pleased to see you  . Takes me back to my early days in the Bank on the counter..we had a customer who owned a launderette. I always ended up serving him as the others used to pretend to be busy/go slower :sigh: . Took me ages weighing out the bags.

You have done really well. That will pay for all your passes for a start. Well done

Here in the US, some of our banks (and grocery stores) have machines that you can toss your coins into. It counts them and returns paper currency. Some charge a fee - but not all do.

I Bank with NatWest, So I Dont know if the same applies with other banks.
Yes i bagged all the coins into the little plastic money bags, which i got from the bank.

Actually she was Fantastic about, She was asking me what I was saving for,and when i told her, she told me that she had been to WDW earlier this year with her BF , and she was saying about the Leave a legacy At Epcot, and I should use some of the Money for that.Which i thought was a great idea. She also said that had put her in a good mood now, remembering the fun she had at WDW

We do the same, saving up all our 1's 2's 5's 10's 20's and 50's. We have a spreadsheet on the computer and keep a tally of every coin we save.

If we didn't do that I would be counting it every week to see what was in it. :rotfl:

Sometimes when getting my change back in a shop I will ask for 50 pences instead of pound coins.

We just changed £285 3 weeks ago and already have another £110 saved.

We change it at the post office, infact the next time we cash it in we will get it changed directly into dollars.

I do the same with all my change and any bills I have left in my purse between paychecks, not sure how much I have so far, not too much but still enough to help out with something.

WOW! That is a lot!! We have a big whisky bottle which we have around £100 at the moment, and I thought we were doing really well  That is going for tickets. The more we save, the more we can do!!

That includes money from Ebay too - everything I sell on Ebay (minus fees and postage costs) goes into the pot, it soon adds up!! :D

Well done Mick!! You will have a great time with that!! I don't know how you live in Blackpool with all that coinage, and not run to the Golden Mile... I would have the time of my life in Coral Island with that

Its not long before we go now and we are so :excited:
To be Honest I used to work in Coral Island, and I guess I have fed the machines with quite a few quid over the years.

Yes, I was a bit aprehensive about how,the cashier might react, when I explained that i had a LOT of change to pay in. She said as long as it was all counted and Bagged there wasn`t a problem.

Fantastic - what a good idea!

Unfortunately, I have a husband who seems to eat loose change! I tend to use my plastic to avoid the Change-Monster getting at my cash! :rotfl:

But good going - I wish I could do the same!! :ears:
