We are flying into Sandford this September anyone got any directions and a guide of how long it will take.

Don't mind toll roads, just as long as it gets me there quick!

Hi there :overhere:
This is a good 1 hour journey from Sanford.
If you don't mind toll roads, take the 417 south from the airport.
Stay on this road (for about 40 mins) until you see the turn off for road 536 jct 6 (World Centre Drive).
Take this turn off and follow the road for about 1.5 mile.
Straight over the first set of traffic lights, and at the 2nd set turn left onto SR-535 south (Vineland Road).
Stay on this road for approx 2 miles and on your right, you will see a sign for Poinciana Boulevard. Turn here, and you will see a Walmart immediatly on your right (just after an attraction Ticket Booth) - that's when you know you've taken the correct road. (just remember, take the road after the pertrol station when you see the sign for oinciana Boulevard!)
Follow Poinciana Boulevard south for approx 5-7 miles and you will see Terra Verde estate on your left hand side.
The entrance to Terra Verde looks like a large rock with Terra Verde written in jagged-style writing. It's easily seen - it's different form all the other estates.
DH and I have stayed at Crescent Lakes a couple of times further down Poinciana Boulevard and never had any problems.
Hope this helps.

What a star you are! thank you for the detailed directions.

As you have stayed near to our planned resort can I ask a few more.....?

The Walmart is it close?

How far to the main parks?

Any restaurants close by? its my wifes 30th on the 13th September and are looking for something special. A place ideal for me, Vicky (wife) and two children Lauryn (6) and Harry (3) as well as my parents, we like all style and nationalities.

Is it a good area?

so on and on, as much info as you could provide will help with the planning.

No probs for the directions. I am the designated co-pilot and pretty much have it all mapped out months before we go! ha ha!

I've stayed in Crescent Lakes twice, 5 mins south of Terra Verde on Poinciana Boulevard. Also have stayed at Hamilton's Reserve once which is closer to the 192 and again, just off Poinciana Boulevard.

I can't fault the area at all. It's a nice road, and it's reasonably quiet unless you are on it at peak times when everyone and their left leg are driving home from work, school, etc. The area is really nice and quiet. You will hardly see a sole on the estates.

You are talking about 15 mins drive from the parks, but there's so much to see along the 192, you hardly notice the time flying by.

The closest Walmart (which is a superstore - open 24 hours) is litteraly 2 mins drive from Terra Verde.
When you come out of Terra Verde, head north on Poinciana Boulevard for approx 0.5 mile. You will see a right turn for Oren Brown Road. Take this turn and drive along again approx 1 mile, and just before the end of the road, where it joins the 192, on the right hand side is the entrance to the Walmart car park. Really is quite close to you.

There are so many restaurants to chose from along the 192 and International Drive. It really just depends what kind of thing you are looking for.

Here's a couple of links to help you choose:

http://www.kissimmee-us192.com/restaurants.htm
http://www.internationaldriveorlando.com/thingsToDo/dining.asp

These will give you an idea of what is on offer. Most restaurants have a website with downloadable menu's. Hope you find something.

Also, a little secret of mine - good for fun with the kids, or just for adults!
If you have time, visit Putting Edge which is in Festival Bay mall up the top of International Drive. It's glow in the dark putting and really is a lot of fun for all ages.

Also, while in Festival Bay, visit Fuddruckers. It's a burger bar, but serves amazing burgers, milkshakes, deserts, and serves potato wedges (which they call fries) which are to die for! Absoloutely amazing! Check out their website for a menu.

If you are looking for something special for your wife, you may want to try one of the Disney resort restaurants. I've never been to any myself, but have heard good reports about a lot of them. Can be quite a price for a large group, I imagine.

Hope my blurp helps!

Funny thing - that's what I went to college to be.
ha ha! But didn't end up doing that!
Any other questions, just pm me. I'd be happy to help if I can.

Hi

We have booked into the terra verde villa resort on oct 5th.

We have booked a villa with two master suites, spa and private pool.

Just wondering if anyone has stayed there and can answer my questions:

How far is it to the old town by car?:

How far is it to disney?:

What are the resort facilities like if you get bored in the villa?

Do you have any pictures etc?

We dont know exactly which villa we are staying in until arrival but we know its a PLatinum standard as well as two master suites, spa and pool, anyone stayed in the same config i would be grateful for pictures?! :D
