Hi!
We're flying into Orlando National Aiport so we need to pick up a rental vehicle from there! Here are our requirements.............
* 8 seater (1 seat for a baby, 7 for adults!)
* Head restraints
* Enough luggage space for around 7 large suitcases
* Air Con
Think that's about it! It does need to be comfy though as we're travelling down to Cape Coral for a week of our hols. Last year we were given a Ford 8 seater Van and we didn't really like it. Problem is....we can't request a specific vehicle!
Any advise and help would be great!
Thanks,
Susie x

A van is what you need. Can you reserve a 15 passenger van? Those are pretty devoid of comforts, but do have AC and room.
Fords? Nah. Try to get a Dodge, or a Chrysler. They have more comfortable vans, but not certain if they go up to 15 seaters. Maybe 12?

We did the 15 seat van thing...it was enormous!!! And lots of room for luggage and kids!

we've had two 8 str vans, the first on was a chevy astro from alamo, and the second was a dodge ram from dollar which had more luggage space, both of which i reckon would suit you, if not then go for the 12 seater. i preferred the chevy it was much better to drive :)

Hi...we are currently in Orlando and are using a Ford 12 seater from Dollar. Loads of space for 4 adults, 3 teenagers and a 10yr old. We had 5 large suitcases (mainly DW's shoes :D ), 3 smaller bags and our hand luggage to get in and it was no problem.
Radio, CD player and 2 air con controls..one for front of van and one for rear which work independently of each other.
MPG is pretty horrific. I'm VERY careful with the accelerator but we are still getting just 14 mpg :what:
If you want luxury, then this is not your best option, but if you want space and adaquate comfort then I'd reccomend this van.

Large vehicles all have horrible MPG. At 14 you're doing pretty good

I think an 8 seater may lack in enough luggage space for 7 large suitcases and baby stuff.
Maybe think about getting 2 vehicles or 1 large one.
Try Auto-Europe.com. They will price match best price you get. They deal with all the major rental companies in central florida.

Hi I think 12 seaters are now the largest vehichles you can hire due to the PSV licence laws. Try World Autos 0845 130 5988 they do them for around £250 including all taxes, insurances and two drivers. That for a 12 seater I have theri price list if anyone is interested PM me

Lst time we met a group at the airport, they had reserved a large (8 seater) Dodge van. It was a monster, easily capable of taking all 8 of them and their luggage (whick was nice since we normally end up taking some of the luggage to the villa for them when they book cars that are too small!). I think they got it from Dollar.

I just looked at world autos price list £183 per week for a 8 seater with dollar including taxes, and insurances.
Being a villa owner I have shopped around to find the best deals on car hire and flights and hoepfully now got it down to a fine art!!! 8 Seater amazing how we have got a pool table in one before!!
Intermediate managed to cram so many suitcases in one thought it was the tardis or Mary Poppins bag!!!
We now tend to go for a 8 seater 4 x 4

That's pretty good - do they have a web site - seems like I might need to have a look since I normally get a 7 seater from Thrifty (no insurance) for $300 a week inc tax!

I know they were having it updated when I spoke to them yesterday but if you would like me to send over the prices pls send me your email address.
Seems like you are paying a lot without taxes etc.
