I am wondering how others have coped when in a wheelchair in the rain. As we are going in August I do expect to see a lot of afternoon showers but was thinking that the standard ponchos may not be big enough to cover the chair and may let rain run down into the seat. What does everyone else do in this situation?

Buy a adult poncho for your DD and it will cover her fine. Childrens are to small.

Oh and drape it over the chair and not just your daughter :)

I did Epcot years and years ago in a full leg cast. We got two ponchos for me. The one that went over my head went over the back of the wheelchair and then the second covered my leg. I was dryer than the rest of my family

Thanks, I was worried the adult poncho would not be big enough to cover the chair

They shold be big enough. Just one thought though my DD is not in an adult wheelchair. But then she is not in a small chair just a little in between. It is always big on her chair though.
You could try ebay and buy an adult wheelchair cover and sell it back on.

She will be in the standard sized chair, I guess if it worked for JM it should work for DD. Thanks anyhow

Check with a local sporting goods store. There are hunter's and hiker's ponchos that are larger. The hunter one is designed to fit over you in a deer stand. Get a hiker's poncho that is designed to fit over you AND your backpack. They usually have a longer back than front which should work out quite well in a wheelchair.
Neither is going to look "Disney" but at least you will be dry :)
