Attention guys  whilst in florida we are looking to drive to miami, setting off early and staying overnight.
We are likely to be staying along highway 27, what would be the best route? also a question about overnight accomodation, is it generally better to pre book once we are in florida, we are thinking of going the second week we are there, or should pre booking be done now? dont want to end up on the beach under the stars  the mrs may find it romantic, but i prefer things in privacy! you know, like taking a shave!
Thanks

Book now to be sure you're in a safe neighborhood. I live down here but avoid Miami because I don't speak spanish :D The easiest way to get down this way is to take 1-4 to Florida's Turnpike South. There are tolls, the main one is $13 something and once you hit Broward County there are a bunch of $1 tolls as you head south.
Where in Miami are you thinking of staying so I can get you better towards where you want to be

Thanks juniorMickey :) we are thinking of staying at the south beach area, we have already checked out the accomodation available but I was just wondering if its best to prebook say a week or so in advance.
Thankyou. :)

I would pre-book Miami. We usually just find places as we go when driving round Florida - but the only time we ended up in horrible hotel (which looked fine on the outside and in the reception area) was in Miami Beach. Check out where you want to be first.
