Just wondering, how many pins do you have, and how long have you been collecting them?

I've been collecting them since last September, and have about 200 (and have probably spent in excess of £2,000 on them!). I'm only going for cool or rare ones at the moment. I can't see myself trading many of the ones I've got away though, so I guess I'll just have to buy more!

Not sure of exact number and have just packed them away in the loft so can't check. We have four lanyards crammed full with them so guessing about 100 or so. They have been collected over all our trips to WDW and DLP. We only buy ones that mean something special to us and we politely decline requests to trade, despite being asked (especially for ones with dates/events on them)

Have two, but don't really collect. One is from MVMCP in 2004 and the other is Disneyland 50th Anniversary.

I have 16 Disney pins (soon to be 26 when my ebay gets here!), which I bought my first one April 2005, but I didn't really start collecting until March 2006.

Pins total the last time I counted I had 170 something which I've been collecting since about Summer 2004

I love all my pins and wouldn't part with any of them. Everyone has a memory from one of my trips to WDW and DLP.

Hmm, around 150 I reckon. I started in 2002 (WDW trip) and have collected on all Disney trips since then as well as buying from eBay at home. I also enjoy trading.. There are some i'd never trade but others I like to 'switch around' so I can refresh my collection pretty much for free :blush: I'm planning on buying one of the big 'lots' on eBay specifically for trading before my next WDW trip.

My two kids each have one lanyard with about 15-18 pins. At least 1/2 of their pins originally came from my mom. She found a yard sale that had both trading pins & simple Disney buttons. Well.....the lady was selling them at a couple bucks each.....my mom was like a kid on christmas morning. Giggling...looking at all the different ones, gasping, talking fast b/c she was so excited. The lady was so pleased to find someone so happy about the pins she gave my mom the whole shoebox full for $15!! It had about 18-20 trading pins!!! My mom kept the buttons and has them on display at her house and gave my kids the trading pins. This was about 3 yrs ago. They had a blast trading pins over the next couple years in the parks. Only problem is now my kids don't want to trade any that they currently have. So I may have to grab an inexpensive starter set so they have some trading power for next summer's trip.

Probably about 200.....been collecting for a couple of years.
I only collect Mickey/Steamboat Willie pins and those featuring Walt himself.

But I plan to jump on the Pin Bandwagon and get my first pins in DLP in January. I'll only be collecting Eeyore, Rides and Park Pins..... okay okay, and Cars ones too ;)

I reckon we must have about 40-50 Disney pins now. I only started collecting about a year ago but Jo's got some going back to around 2000. I dont collect any particular series as such but am always on the look out for Robin Hood pins, not many about though :sigh: Other than that, i have one from each of the resorts ive stayed at and the rest are ones i like the look of. Couple of AP holder exclusive pins too :)

I love Special pints - Events, AP etc. I have a bunch of AP, a few MVMCP & MNNSHP, couple of ESPN the Weekend etc. THose are cool ones to me

i have around 90 pins & have been collecting since i guess '99 or '00 when it became big. I am very very picky about the pins i buy or trade for. I only collect pins that have to do with the theme parks/rides or resorts so when we go on a trip i don't usually come away with too many new ones. My husband & two daughters probably have twice as many as i do because my husband collects Goofy which there are a ton of & my daughters just love to trade so we have stashes of pins we've bought on ebay or when the disney store discontinued them so they can do a bunch of trading every year & add to their collections.

I counted them not too long ago...and the total came up to over 700. I've been collecting them since the early 1990's and then I got a lot of pins after my Mom passed away in 2003. Yeah...I got her started in pin trading in 1998 I believe.

I don't even want to know how much money I've spent on pins. In fact...I've got some bids going on on Ebay right now...cross your fingers for me! :lol:

DS has got three lanyards with about fifteen pins on each. He didn't buy any pins in particular but just ones he liked the look of. My favourites are an Esmerelda pin with his birthstone in the centre and also a huge pin that states 'World's Greatest Mom'! We've also bought a couple of pins each time we've been on the Cruise which are really nice

I'm going down to WDW next month with my 11-year-old daughter...a first time for us both. Now I'm wondering whether this pin-collecting thing will overshadow everything else we do?

My sister is going to give my daughter a 'starter set' of some sort for Christmas. What I don't get is what happens if she likes the pins in the set and would rather keep them? How do you trade when you want to hold on to them??? And do I understand correctly that you can only trade a pin to a cast member that they don't already have?? So you cannot trade 'Pin X' to a cast member if they already have 'Pin X' on their lanyard?

DBF is now officially worse than me! In the last 30min on Ebay he's bought a Nightmare Before Xmas Starter Set with a lanyard and 4 Jack Skellington pins; a DLRP Castle and Chip and Dale pin; a DLRP Castle and Stitch pin; and a bronze DLRP MGM Studios pin with Mickey as a director...

I just got a new pins... It's a silver Mickey with the word "Dream" on it (which is perfect as it is for me!) and was given to supirior cast members in 1999? so not Official Trading, but It's just for me :D
