Leu mentioned that she wants to visit Costco and Sam's Club while we're at WDW. We're staying at PC, but I'm better off if the directions begin around the Hess station at DTD. I get so turned around at WDW that I just follow the signs to navigate onsite; I'm fine once I'm off Disney property!

Also, does anyone know if there is a Marshall's or Ross in the Orlando vicinity? I'm not a bit shopper, however Leu... Let's just say she doesn't shop nearly as much as she used to!

Hmmmm, there is a Costco, but it's way over on the east side of Orlando.
There are a couple of Sam's. I think the closest one is on 192?

Ross and Marshall's are found in many places too. :sigh:

I think the closest Marshall's is across the road from Millenia Mall (in the BJ's area).

Ross? Errrrmmmm, maybe the closest is up on 50?

I think I should have not tried to answer this one. :sorry:

Sorry Tajainaz! I know how to get to those stores, but clearly can't give decent directions.

Maybe Sorcerer Mickey can help with one of his fabulous maps.

Definitely can relate, 'Tink!

We aren't going for a while, so there's plenty of time for SM to ride to the rescue! :)

I would also be interested to know if there is a Sam's in the Orlando area....been to a one in Tampa and it was pretty good.

If your at the Hess station across from Downtown Disney, turn right out of the parking lot and travel to the end where the gates are (across from The Crossings shiopping center). Turn right at the light onto State Rt 535 (Apopka-Vineland Road) and travel 5-6 miles. Turn left at the light onto 192 and the Sam's Club will be on your left a few miles down.

Thanks, Johnie!

It's just easier to ask for directions for the Hess station at DTD. I can follow the signs to DTD and go from there! Even though the streets at WDW have names, I never can find the street signs!

Yep, thanks USCWest. That's the one on the east side of Orlando near the University of Central Florida. MUCH traffic!

There is a Costco on Orange Blossom Trail (OBT) on the left hand side when coming up from Osceola Parkway.

hi all

Sad old me even emailed costco to see if i could use my UK trade card in the USA and hey said of course you can only need to called at the information desk to get a pass for the day..Yehhh just want to see just how much cheaper things are over there.

Costco is on OBT south of the FL Mall. Central Florida Parkway is the best way. Turn south on OBT, Costco is just past the Toyota garage on the right.

Be aware that if you have a UK Costco card you cannot swipe the card at the Gas station - just show the operator your card and he (she) will enable the pump for you. You probably already know that Costco only takes American Express and cash as payment but just to let you know its the same in the USA.
There are lots of goodies to buy! Enjoy.

If you already know the Florida Mall (and I guess most of us do) the the Costco on South Orange Blossom Trail should be easiest to find. Your UK card is fine in store, they are happy with travellers cheques as payment. The store is identical to our local UK store, 50% of the items are the same. We saw quite good savings on PSP and DS games, cameras were ok but as usual not a huge range filling up with fuel is worthwile if your there anyway. Oh and the pizza is just like home :)

Is the Sams Club worth a visit and can us Brits use it?

Sam's is very similar to Costco. Sometimes you can get a one day shopping pass.

And to add more to the fun... there is also BJ's :). They do give you a pass. There is a BJ across from the LOOP shopping center on Osceola Parkway. Basically at the intersection of Orange Blossom Trails and Osceola Parkway.

Costco, Sam's and BJ's are dangerous places for me... never been able to go in and out without something... :)
