I'm trying to decide whether £19 is a good price for a full tank of fuel for my rental car. Does anyone know what the current price is for gas in the Orlando area? Thanks. :)

Prices vary by area and by grade of fuel (reg/premium etc) but today they are betwen $2.83 and $3.10 a US gallon in the Orlando area.

By my calculations that is about $35.00. I costs me over $50.00 to FILL my tank in my Durango and almost $40.00 to FILL the tank in my Sebring Convertible. So I would say that is a good price.

Prices have started to go down here in PA, so hopefully it will follow in Florida. Of all years for me to rent an SUV  :sigh:

Gas is down to $2.41 here. We rented a minivan for our trip at the end of the month. I'm glad to see gas getting lower.

Surprisingly you'll find the cheapest gas in the area at the HESS stations inside Disney property at $2.74
It's $2.79 at the Chevron in front of Sea World...

Gas here is right about the $2.99 to $3.05 mark so the prices around Disney aren't to bad.

By UK standards it`s a very good price John.
Filling up the tank of my car over here is well in excess of £70 [$120+]
[Pity we cannot carry liquids onto the plane any more.]

Cheapest gas I have seen here in NOVA is $2.61/gallon for regular. Dropped to that this weekend. Heard on the news that we could see $2.00/gallon by late November.

$2.70 at the Citgo on west 192. Would be nice to see the costs drop to near or BELOW $2 per gallon, eh?

As of last Thursday (08/31), our local stations were running $2.67 to $2.83 per gallon of standard unleaded. Haven't been out and about since, but I'm hoping the downward trend continues. We've been at the high end of US gas prices for some time. It's nice to know we're at the lower end for a change!
Glad the Orlando area prices are dropping a bit, too. We rented a mid-size for our 09/30-10/09 WDW visit. It was a better price than the compact. With the amount of driving we do--or don't do!--the fuel cost should be significantly less than the higher rental fee!

Ours dropped to $2.62 and over the holiday weekend what a surprise that is.

Just read a CNN.com story that said we could be under $2.50 by Thanksgiving. How wonderful that would be. Some extra money for Christmas shopping. Over the course of a month, the drop from the $3.03 to that would save me almost $22

Thanks for the replies everyone. Sounds like it is a good deal to get the prepaid fuel.

We tend to have cheaper gas than other parts of the country for some reason. I don't think we ever went over $3 for regular unleaded.

We're still in the $2.45 to $2.55 range for standard unleaded. Depends on the location and station. We're a winter tourist destination, so our prices may not drop as rapidly--or as much--as some areas. Our snowbird season officially started around Labor Day weekend and will be in full swing by mid-October.

September 28th, 2006, 17:28
Ahhh see taja we are at the opposite end of the tourist spectrum and that is why our gas is finally going down. We are a small tourist town that tripples in size over the Summer months. All of our Summer residents or "Snowbirds" are heading your way now. Enjoy!:D

If you are going to be in the Southern Dunes area (6 miles south of I-4 on Highway 27) Gas is $2.24 today. It's hovering, but has been going down a penny or so every couple days. If you're heading into Lakeland, I saw $1.19.

IS that really $1.19 or is that a typo and you meant $2.19?
