Chat room

I suppose the fact that no one noticed the chat room was removed yesterday means that it isn't missed? :lol:

On Tuesday night, hackers tried to get onto our server using the chat room. There was apparently a gaping security hole in the Flashchat software we were using. It allowed hackers to be able to get onto the server and if they wished, delete the whole server :eek:

Thankfully, our hero Keith (whom I'm indebted to) noticed something was amiss and quickly came to the rescue. He managed to stop them getting access. But we thought it was for the best to remove that software, as there was still a chance they could get in again.

I'm sure you'll all agree that you'd rather manage without a chat room until we can find a new one, instead of being left with a blank page and all your posts and accounts disappear into thin air?

I've recently run into the same problem with Flashchat. The hole is in making sure you remove certain files after install and setting some files back to read only.
I'm still trying to pin it down.:shrug:
