I`ve just found out that we have some friends coming out to stay with us for a week during our vacation. They will be flying into Sanford and it`s literally years since I used that airport.
Any ideas on the journey time from say WDW for when I go to collect them by car?

It normally takes me 35 to 40 minutes to get to from the SeaWorld area to Lake Mary, close to the Sanford airport during the weekend.
If you are picking them up during the week and take I-4, definitely add 45 minutes to 1 hour of extra travel time.
If you are taking the 417 (Greenway), I would say give yourself 1 hour to 1hr 15min to get there from Kissimmee.

Depending upon the time of day you need to be there, of course. The 417 is congested in sections during the morning and afternoon rush hours, roughly 7:30 am-ish to 9:00 and then around 3:30 or so until 6:00.
I-4? It's jammed all the time it seems. Much construction in the John Young Parkway (exit) area too.

Many thanks you two locals.:)
What`s the betting that I give myself plenty of time, arrive there early, and then find out that their flight is delayed? [With my luck, that`s bound to happen !]

Isn't that the truth! That's always a problem when the airport is more than fifteen minutes away.
There is a nice mall in Sanford, and a Global Marketplace? Or World Marketplace, something like that? Might be some place you could wait out the delay (should there be one of course).
You can also have a message sent to your cell to tell you if there is going to be a delay? At least that way you'll know early on (maybe before you leave)!

Or you can check on the airline's website if it is delayed before you leave teh hosue. Chances are that 1hr 30min before their scheduled arrival they would already be in the air and the website would know if there are any delays.

That could work out expensive Tink :afraid: , seeing as I`ll have Sue with me!
