Hello, Just looking for any "tips" you may have. My daughter is in a wheelchair full time. My husband can lift her in and out but not for long periods of time. Any information in regard to rides? Getting around the resorts and parks? We will be staying at the wilderness cabins, I did request one which is wheelchair accessible. Just wondering if anyone has some advice to share! Thanks again! You'll want to get a Guest Assistance Pass. That won't help with the lifting but it may help the wait times for her. At least she will be in a place out of the direct sunlight.
There are many attractions that have transfer options, but that will most likely require lifting. There are a few (very few) that allow you to remain in the wheelchair.
Hope that helps a bit!

The disabilities section (http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/disab.html) of the main site should help you with questions such as ride access.

Hi and :welcome2:. My DD is in a wheelchair and we have to lift her for some rides but not all. Make sure you get the guest assistant pass. They will date it for your whole holiday at Disney. Universal and IOA did one but not sure if they still do. We always do the rides we know we can do with her and this is quite a lot and make it a fun holiday. All buses will take your DD in her wheelchair and you will get priority of boarding. They make life as easy as possible. When you make dinner reservation always warn them that you have a wheelchair user just so they can give you the best table without being knocked all the time. Do not expect to get on ride instantly as this will not always happen but you get on quicker than joining the queue. You may wait 5 to 10 minutes depending on how busy they are. Have fun you will all love it

Hi Everyone,
THANKS for all of the information. My daughter is really looking forward to going! I will get a pass the sunlight issue is something I did not think of. Smart thinking! We don't mind waiting in lines as long as my hubby doesn't have to hold her up in the air, sort of speak! The dinning tip was a great one too as I know how it is to keep getting "bumped". Thanks again! Sheila:thumbs:
