Does the usual transport from airport to hotel have option of car seats for babies/toddlers or will I have to bring my own.
Also, if I don't hire a car, what about the transport from resort hotels to the resorts themselves?

Some taxis and limo companies have them available if you pre warn them. All hire companies at Sanford and MCO will rent you one but IMO it is an expensive option for what is usually a well worn, grubby seat. Best option if you are hiring a car is take your own

Definitely agree with Alex about the car hire seats. We did this first time and we basically got a grubby lump of polystyrene with straps. Since then we take our own lightweight one in a barrel bag. Others also suggest buying a cheap one before you go and leaving it out there as it is still cheaper than hiring one.

I second that, take a cheap lightweight seat and put it in the aircraft hold. The hire company wanted nearlly 20 dollars a day plus tax for the hire of 2 car seats!!! That works out rather expensive over 14 days.

We put our seats in luggage in a large bag on the way out and then on the way back we couldn't fit the one booster in the bag. First Choice just stuck an aircraft label on it and sent it to the hold no questions asked, even though it meant we had more pieces of luggage than we should have had we were still underweight. We would have been quite preparred to leave it behind if we had, had to pay (it was an old booster we had been given).

When we go in 2007 we will do the same again as the children will then be 6(close to 7),4 and 1. Don't know if the oldest will still need a booster then as she is not very tall.

I don't know about European Airlines but I have never heard of a US airline charging extra for baby seats, carriages, or strollers.

I would opt for bring your own too ~ much cheaper! We paid last time and it did add quite a lot on to the cost of the car hire... I hate bringing loads of stuff with me when I go on holiday though - like to travel light and bring lots home!!
