Hi - I am visitng WDW for the first time in December and am hugely confused by the number of tickets on offer! I have decided to book through US web-site as they offer much greater options than any UK site. But I have a couple of questions:
1. If I buy a base ticket (5 day - children young and I don't think they will have the energy to park hop) does it include free disney transport - if not how much should I budget for this
2. Is entry into Downtown Disney (excluding clubs) free?
Thanks to anyone who can help!

Disney transport is included with park tickets and yes entry into DTD (apart from the clubs and disneyquest) is free.

Disney tickets are very confusing. Here are some things to think about:
How many days will I actually need?
Will I be going to Disney again?
If so, next time will I want to hop then?
It is always better to purchase more days if you will be returning to Disney. You purchase next year's vacation at this year's prices. However, you will have to purchase the no expiration option. The more days you purchase the better price you get. Also, you may want to hop next year if you are going to go to Disney again. Then you need to purchase the hopping option. The Water Parks fun & more option (water parks, Disney Quest, Pleasure Island) is a great option but I don't always find I need it. If you are purchasing for future vacations I would add it in (you always seem to change your mind in the future). However, if you don't add on any options and only purchase a base ticket; you can always change and upgrade once you get to Disney.
I hope this helps. Dreaming of Disney!!!
