I recently attended the Sea World Luau. It was much nicer than I had been led to believe it would be! I would recommend asking for seating on the second tier, but other than that things went well. The food was not stellar, but it certainly was palatable. For some reason, no photos of the food (other than the salad and the mai tais) came out. . At any rate, here they are!

Good to know! We did it a few years back and enjoyed it, it's certainly more authentic than the disney luau is now.

What's this second tier business? I dont recall there being different tiers when we did it ?

I would go again, and would recommend this dinner showThe chicken was nice, and the pork ribs weren't overly sweet. The vegetables were snow peas and yellow summer squash. They were cooked nicely. There was fried rice also. There is a full bar, and the prices of the mixed drinks were no more than you would expect at a venue such as this.

The only thing that was a real disappointment food-wise was the dessert. The cake was dreadfully dry and there was something odd about the peanut butter sauce that was drizzled on it. No one at the table took more than a bite. It is family style dining, and you will be seated at table with others. Not a problem, actually.

Here are the last couple shots...

They were mai tais, Foreverducky and only have ONE. They taste far less dangerous than they actually are.

Keith there are two "rows" of tables on the floor that puts the diners heads level with the stage. I was in the second row, and had a very miserable time trying to get photos without peoples heads. :ohdear:

There is a higher level (I call it the second tier) "above" the ground floor (which is actually below the stage) and that affords a much better view and unobstructed photography.

Did that make any sense at all?

Oh, meant to say that the dances, and the history (presented by "The Goddess) were more authentic than those performed at the luau I went to in Hawaii! That luau was so bad as to be embarrassing, quite frankly. :nono:

This was presented very accurate historical information and the dancing and costumes were quite accurate for the most part, too.

There was a little boy (no more than four, I'd guess) who performed a little too. He was so quick on and off the stage, I never got a shot of him. He's quite a charmer and talented too! Look for him if you go. Be ready with the camera because he is FAST!!!

Thanks for the photos. Is it indoors or outdoors? We went to the one htey had at the Royal Pacific over at Universal. They had to have it inside the convention center due to the weather which was weird.....

The mai tai looks awesome! I'll make sure I have a designated driver if I ever go!

Do they offer any discounts for the luau?

The fish was mahi mahi and it was quite nice!

I didn't go to the one at the Polynesian Cultural Center. I went to some luau that my family dragged me to and it was dreadful. I WANTED to go to the PCC.

Yep, they're Mai Tais. Not too red! :D You purchase the drink in a souvenier glass. It's plastic so I thought it would be fun by the pool.

Yes, Johnie it is indoors. Odd, but ok. The Christmas one is supposed to be very nice. There are two shows per day for Christmas.

Lovely photos - thank you for sharing. This is something that DH wants to do next year. SeaWorld is his favourite park and so far we've only dined with Shamu!
