I bought one for Claire on Monday but we're taking it back on Saturday. She has all the other 'classic' DVD's, and on the back at the top they're numbered (I think The Wild was about number 46).

Anyway... It was the same price in the disney store as virgin records, and Disney weren't bundling it with anything (no lithograph, which she also collects) - so I got it from Virgin, so the dude would give me another stamp in my Virgin addict card.

When we got home I noticed that on the back it says "Disney's under the sea classic" (or something like that), but I'm sure that the boxes in the disney store had the number on (I think it was 26). And she's fussy and weird, and wants them all numbered. So we're swapping them.

We also had to re-buy Tarzan when it was re-released, as the Walt Disney Classics logo changed and now they all match. She still refuses to buy the Fantasia 3 disc collection because it has the old logo on the box.

I keep telling her she needs to get out more...

We've just bought the Special Edition which has Little Mermaid 1 & 2 and according to DS there's also a preview of Little Mermaid 3 which I'm looking forward to seeing.

I got it for Ava on Thursday from Asda for £13.97 then we 10% off coz dh works for them in logistics soi it was £12.60ish - not bad. I was a bit disappointed with the colours though - no wher near as bright as I expected it to have been - I know it's been restored etc but when you've watched something like Nemo the colour is a bit of a let down - still love it though - I remember my nana buying it for me when I was little on vhs - i've still got it and it is much improved on that!:afraid:

I was back on loser alert on Saturday...

The one from the Disney store UK is definately different from the ones they're selling anywhere else.

Here's whats different:

1) The ones in the Disney Store have the numbers on the back (this was the 28th animated classic, not 26th - my bad). The ones from everywhere else say "Disney's under the sea adventure".

2) The ones sold everywhere else (or most places anyway) - on the front, the outline of the shell and classics logo is yellow. The one from DS is metallic.

3) Most importantly: the run time on the one from DS is 89 minutes - apparently 9 minutes longer than the others. I dont know why, or if they're just including it with the option to watch the deleted scenes as they fit into the film or what. When I've watched them both (I think I'll give the other copy to my sister, cuz I'm nice), I'll let you nkow if theres a difference.

So if you're super picky, I'd recommend getting it from the disney store. It was £14.99.
