Transport from Vero Beach

Not sure if you guys can help with this but thought I'd ask anyway :shrug:

I know that Vero Beach resort is less than 2 hours by road away from WDW, but is there any way of getting there if you don't drive? Are there transfers available for instance?

Also, what is the nearest airport to Vero Beach?

If I have my state geography correct, West Palm Beach is probably the closest airport to Vero

There is one but just a municipal airport, not for commercial traffic...

I cannot think of any other way to get there from Orlando other than driving yourself. It's just a resort by the beach, it is Disney, but a different "business" from the theme parks and resorts in Orlando so there is no transportation from WDW, unlike the DCL which is an extension from the WDW experience.

If you are going directly from WDW to Vero, I'd suggest renting a car and driving down. It's an easy drive and you'll enjoy having a car with you while there.

Unfortunately we don't drive Tom, that's why I wanted to know if there was any transfers available.

It takes us just under 2 hours to get there knowing the route (it's our DVC Home Resort) and hiring a transportation company, I would think, would be very expensive...

I just called two transportation companies and the price for transporting from WDW to Vero Beach and pick-up at a later date will run you around $350-$400 for 4 people.

I'd really love to do a few nights at WDW, then Vero, and then the rest of my time at WDW but looks like that may be kinda difficult to do. Which transport companies do you recommend to call? I wouldn't know where to start. This will be my first booking as a DVC member so it's all a bit new so far!
I wish Disney would have some sort of shuttle in place :(

Since I've never had to hire a transportation company, I just did a Google search and called two random companies that offer transport to Vero Beach. That's how I came up with those prices.

I would start with our sponsor, the link is at the top of our UOG Home Page... I don't know if they go to Vero Beach, but they'll let you know.

There are a few other transportation companies that members here use, but I cannot remember their name now, hopefully someone will come around and post their name... :yes:

Tiffany Towncars. :yes: They are an excellent company with a history of very good service and a fee that is stated up front, with no additional charges tacked on. :yes:

The only other way there that I can think of would be by bus, but I cannot imagine that would be convenient at all. :eek: You'd end up at a bus station somewhere and still have to hire transport to the resort proper.

I wonder if you spoke with Disney/DVC? Perhaps they have a service we are unaware of. Surely you can't be the only person who needs transport to Vero Beach?

I asked someone at the DVC when I was at WDW recently about Disney transfers/shuttles to Vero and they said that there wasn't one.

Let's hope that Disney change their minds in the future :sigh:
