A friend of mine is getting married this Sept and is wanting to honeymoon in Disney. She's been trying to find info and specific things she will get as a newlywed at Disney. She's contacted Disney direct but didn't really get any info. I'm sure any advice on where she should stay, places to eat, must sees would be great Thanks

For a honeymoon the places to stay would be the Grand Floridian, The Wilderness Lodge or the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
For a romantic meal I must recommend Victoria & Albert's in the Grand Floridian Hotel. It's quiet, high class and they treat you like royalty.
As for things to do... There's so many.
I would say Cirque Du Soleil - La Nouba would be a thing to see. If only to say that you've seen it. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I'd second the GF, or the Polynesian. For our honeymoon we stayed at GF, Poly & AKL. Although the room at GF was totally out of this world, I found the Poly to be most romantic.
She won't automatically get anything at WDW as a newlywed. If they wear the bride and groom ears (available at various shops at WDW) they MAY get a few surprises, although not is guaranteed or to be expected. They'll certainly get congratulations shouted at them by other guests :)
Things they could do- a fireworks cruise, Spirit of Aloha dinner show, watching fireworks from a hammock on the beach at Poly, or from beach at GF, carriage ride at POR.
Cinderella's Royal Table dinner singles out newlyweds and is a nice place to eat.
Other romantic eateries (apart from V&A) - Artist Point, Citrico's, California Grill.

Hi all
We stayed at Wilderness Lodge for our anniversary and loved it so much, it was really romantic and the pool and grounds were lovely. It was so great to go on the boat to the magic kingdom in the morning, really quick and easy.
We went for a meal at Narcoosees in the GF and got a personalised menu with our anniversary on it, and a free dessert which was really thoughtful. The staff seemed to go out of their way to make us feel special. :)

Finally attempt. Tried to type this twice and the internet cut off!!!!!
This time it will be short and sweet.
We stayed at the Port Orleans because:
1) It was quiet, even with it being the school holidays in UK.
2) There were nice, romantic walks.
3) There was a really relaxing horse drawn carriage trip.
4) You could travel to Downtown Disney by the ferry.
5) As well as the main pool there were much quieter pools by the acomodation, usually quiet.
When we were there we didn't get anything FREE but we did get some things because were on Honeymoon.
1) I got flowers sent to our room for when we arrived.
2) I made t-shirts showing we were on honeymoon and these were spotted by Dean. He is in charge of getting the people who are at the front of the parade and we were the guests of honour for the Magic Kingdom parade that day.
3) We were given badges that said we were on honeymoon. This meant no end of cast members wished us well.
4) We were chosen to take part in th Indian Jones Stunt Show.
5) Our waitress at the Hoop De Doo Music Reveuegave us a certificate to recognise our honeymoon and we got a round of applause.
We went for a romantic meal to the California Grill (the best steak I have ever tasted.) If you time your reservation right then they will hold your order so that you can go out onto the restauarant veranda and watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks. The pipe the music into the restuarant.
We headed back to our tableand as we sat the waiter came over and placed our meals. Fantastic service!!!!!
Hope this was useful. Anything else just ask.

I honeymooned at WDW and stayed at the Swan. It is one of the higher end hotels, but I don't think it is quite as expensive as, say, the AK Lodge or the Grand Floridian (but I may be mistaken). Also, I found that the Portobello Yacht Club in Downtown Disney was a wonderful place for a quiet, romantic dinner that didn't cost an arm and a leg.

Robin you are one of the few people I have seen have something good to say about the Portobello Yacht Club. This is a place that I have always enjoyed. :)
