Has anyone eaten there before? How is it? We want seafood while in Disney, but it has to be on the DDP. Funds are tight this time :) So anyway...what's the best place on the dinning plan for great seafood?

We went with Tinker and her family 2 years ago. The food was good. It wasn't the best seafood I've ever had but it was good and there was lots of it. DD wants to go back just for the Oreo bon bons.

I think it's a great place to eat. No, the food isn't the greatest in WDW but it's pretty darn good. Not only seafood, but beef, pork and chicken are on the menu. It's a great buffet restaurant and the desserts are to die for. Oh and don't forget you get to draw on the tablecloths:wink:

You're kidding! We have an itlian resturant here where you can draw on the table cloth( huge paper sheet). My Dh was just doodling and they hung it up in the kitchen for weeks lol. They love it when he comes in because he will draw for them :)

Yes they're paper ones. We even got the CM to draw on them when we went before, she was really good fun. If you want to keep them grab them quickly 'cos the CM's grab them off the table as you're leaving.

Have dined there only once, and it was during free dining in October, 2006. Things were a tad insane, to be polite! :D

We ranked it with H&V at the bottom of our dining experiences list. Keep in mind, the volume of guests was horrendous, so the staff was working their hearts out.

For the most part, the hot food temperature was a bit iffy. I like to know it's at proper holding temperature, and this seemed far too cool. I don't know if the main buffet area wasn't replenished frequently, or just too many guests for the staff to keep up. Every time I went to get something, it was empty or had just dried-out stuff left. I can't eat shellfish, so I can't vouch for that, but I liked the fish. Had a tiny bit of beef, but it was dried-out and less than wonderful. The sides also were empty most of the time. I eat small quantities of food, so I make several trips for small amounts, rather than filling my plate all at one time!

We had a terrific server, though, and she kept our drinks filled throughout the meal. That's why I tend to think they were under-staffed or over-booked. Depends on one's viewpoint! :)

We've found most places like that since the dining plan has been introduced. We're waiting longer and longer for tables despite having ADR's then we're given a menu with limited offerings, plates with smaller portions and rushed out. We've started eating offsite more.

I didn't rate Cape May at all. You'll struggle to find great seafood at WDW, dining plan or not. Even the lobster tails have disappeared of the menu's (again.....down to the dining plan!).

We are booked for Feb 14th @ 6:40pm. Works out great since we will be in Epcot just about all day :). My mom and I will get up and start laundry while everyone gets breakfast. I think we will be doing the pants and sweaters the night before so we can make our way to Epcot for lunch at le Cellier on Valentines day.

Usually, Cape May's dinner buffet is very well kept. The dishes are replaced before they are empty and the hot food is quite hot and the cold, very cold.

If DDP is ruining that... :(

There really isn't a super good place for seafood on WDW property (although BlueZoo will try very hard) or for that matter in Central Florida overall!

Cape May is one of my favorite places though. I can eat my weight in clams and mussles and shrimp, so...

It's changed through the years. Used to be you could order whole lobster, then they went to just tails, and then no lobster at all, but snow crab legs... (they are extra).

It's a great place to go if you have a group of folks who have mixed preferences. They have substantial non-shellfish/fish choices.

Enjoy~ !

Thank you Tink :) I think we will have a great time :) And we all love seafood :) I read the reviews also which helped make up our minds. But I promise to come back and tell everyone all about it :)

We like it, though we don't go as often as we would like. Might have to check out DeAngelos the next time we are in Baton Rouge, which will be like 2012 I think, should I still be bowling in the USBC Nationals at that time. We were there just before Katrina hit.

There are 3 DeAngelos in the area. One is actually in Denham Springs. But they are all excellent! Freindly, fun and great food :). I will have to try the Macaroni Grill now :)

2012???? Hopefully i will have a home of my own by then lol. If you do head this way again you'll have to let us know and we will get together for a meal :)

Cap'n Jacks in DTD is on the DDP this year and they do seafood

You will have to use 2TS, but Narcoosees do a surf and turf with a lobster tails and I'm 90% sure they do a whole lobster :D

Le Cellier is 1TS and they have a mussels starter...
