Turkey Lake Road (Palm Parkway becomes Turkey Lake Road) before the intersection of Sand Lake Road is the newest location for a SuperWalmart. Went by there over the weekend and the building appears to be quite near to finished with signs up, etc. Other shops are going in the same area too, given the number of other store fronts going up.

Just thought I'd let you know!

It's not far at all from DTD. From DTD to the Crossroads Plaza intersection take a left, move to the right lane for an immediate right on Palm Parkway. Palm Parkway becomes Turkey Lake. The new SW is on the left just after passing Sand Lake Hospital.

Interesting. Any news on an expected date of opening?

Not that I saw, but that doesn't mean a thing. I was on I-4 and wouldn't have been able to see a sign announcing the opening date.

Probably a couple of months? Or longer? If I find out, I'll post here.

Excellent. I know they seem to build those things almost overnight these days it seems!!

The new one will be closer than the one on the 192,and bigger i take it?

OKWTink

It will be much closer to WDW than the one on 192. Easier to get to (independent of the closeness) and at least for awhile, cleaner. :D

I'm not sure how large it is exactly, but it looked enormous to me. Then again, I'm dreadful at estimating size, age, distance...

To be honest, I was pretty surprised to see one go up in this particular site. It's right on top of Dr. Phillips and that is a pretty pricey neighborhood.

There is going to be a new Whole Foods on the corner (just beyond the SuperWalmart) so that should be interesting.

One thing I am concerned about though... that used to be a nice shortcut. :sigh: I can't imagine that it won't be anything other than another traffic clogged road now. :(

Any super-Walmart is going to be huge to us over here.

I actually know the location you mean. Adding this to list of places that need visiting. In all the time I've spent in the US I've never been to a Walmart of any kind.

Excellent.

I once got lost in a Meijer in Michigan. Seriously - had to ask where the exit was. :Panic:

That place is kind of what I imagine a Walmart to be like.

I will never forget the day we walked in there - we were all like "OMG - just how big IS this place?" :faint:

They are just huge "boxes" so it makes it hard to get lost. They are enormous though. Almost impossible to avoid anymore as they are so very prevalent. They seem to be putting them one on top of the other.

I have some problems with Walmart so I try really hard to avoid shopping there. :sigh: Not always successful, but then that's life, eh? Striving to do the best you can at any given time.

I love Wal-Mart. They have everything I need, it's all in one place and it's cheap.

Will it be easy for us to pop in there from the airport on the way to CSR?I can't picture where it is,but it might be easier to stock up before we check-in.

Oh no, not ethical issues.

Well maybe if I just went in one once on a vacation that wouldn't be too bad.

As I always stay in a villa I can honestly say that I went to Walmart every day of my 3 week holiday for fresh salad, bread & chicken. We'd wander round for ages - sometimes we'd be there twice a day.

As another member from NE England Isafari - you've got it exactly right. They are cheap, they are massive and the prices are not bad at all. Some of the stuff is quite good quality but it depends on which UK store you're comparing with. I got some really nice Stainless Steel cutlery for about 1/3 of the price you'd pay here in the UK - the cutlery was definitely equal to what I'd previously seen in D*benhams for 4x the price. Of course, there is some rubbish but it depends on what you want to buy.

Well they do that but if you have any issue with people in general ( when I was pregnant I would actually have panic attacks in them from too many people) they arent that fun. When I do my grocery shopping I get as little as possible there. Yeah I would save money buying some of the things there but too me Id rather pay slightly higher prices and save my sanity. That being said I will be going to walmart tonight to get a wedding gift for my cousin and since im there I will get the few things that I need.
