Hiya guys
Well, it's officially little over 7 days before DBF and I shall be heading off to the magic! Arrrrggghhhhhhhh!!! I'm so excited I feel like I'm going to burst with excitement!
We're in the process of finalising the last few things for our itinerary, and one of the things we'd like to do is hire a SeaRaycer (what were the called Watermice the last time I hired one I believe!)
Basically just wondering where the best place (or only place) is to rent them. Although it will be great to be let loose on the lagoon at speed, I'm hoping to take my camera and get a few really nice shots of the area around the lagoon...
Can a SeaRaycer go anywhere around the lagoon regardless of where you hire it from, so long as you return it to that same place? Or are you restricted to the areas you're allowed to go depending on where you rent them from?
With lots of thanx and pixie dust!

You can rent them at any of the resorts and make your way around Bay Lake and the 7 Seas Lagoon.
Mrs. SM and I like to rent them at Wilderness Lodge, go around once around Discovery Island (Riles Island), make our way to the 7 Seas Lagoon, get close to all the resorts, go back to Bay Lake, once or twice again around Discovery Island and get back.

We usually rent from GF or Poly. If you rent at GF, Poly, Contemporary or WL, you can go around both Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon

You can also hire Searaycers from the Downtown Disney marina, although im not sure where all you can explore from there. Im guessing you can head up the waterway past OKW/LBV golf course and towards Port Orleans

Ok, so, which is the best place to hire if you want to explore the most areas?
I was just going to hire ours from Sammy Duvalls because we were doing the parasailing first and.....I didn't realise you could hire Searaycers from different locations!

There's quite a few places Diane
Yacht Club, Port Orleans Riverside, Old Key West, Downtown Disney.
I'm not sure if Downtown Disney (Cap'n Jack's Marina), you just go on that lake rather than being allowed onto PO territory
Any of the MK Resorts cover the biggest area IMO.

Thanks Joanne. :)
If I do hire from Sammy's, how far can we go? It would be the obvious place for me to hire from if we were parasailing from there and going to Chef Mickeys afterwards.....or can you go parasailing from any of the other places that do Searaycers?
Am I complicating things :sorry: :D

You can only parasail from Sammy's at the Contemporary. You may as well hire the SeaRaycer from there too, as you can go to exactly the same places as you can from the other MK Resorts.
You can go right round Seven Seas Lagoon, apart from the ferry dock bit in front of MK. You can also go through the narrow channel to Bay Lake, in front of Wilderness Lodge & FW, round Discovery Island. And yes, it is all possible in 30 minutes :hehe:
There are a few small blocked off areas, like around the islands, and the bit on Bay Lake where they do the watersports, but it's still a huge area :)

You can go from OKW / PO to DTD and vice versa  We did it on the Wedding trip during our 1st week at OKW. The 'only dock at your place of hire' rule applies like MK resorts :)
