A few rumours

Here are a few rumours that are doing the rounds.

Cinderella Castle might be getting covered in hundreds of lights, possibly just for use at special events (MVMCP, MNSSHP).

Diamond Horseshoe Saloon might be temporarily reopening as a buffet restaurant during the free dining plan period.

A Tinker Bell meet and greet at MK.

A possible new E-Ticket attraction at Disney-MGM Studios in the next few years.

Star Tours to get a new film, possibly 2008 or 2009. There are also reports of it being 3D and/or Imax.

Disney Stars and Motor Cars Parade to be replaced in spring 2008, by "Block Party Bash."

A new Halloween party at MGM, themed on Jack Skellington.

A new show in the ABC Theater at Disney-MGM Studios.

Studios Backlot Tour to close.

A nighttime parade at Animal Kingdom - "Rivers of Light."

They all sound really good. Thought I read something about the castle being lit with lights on the MCMCP blurb, but thought it was just the projected lights.

I would miss the backlot tour. Even though it changed so much when they took down all of the houses to build Stars and Motor Cars it was still a relaxing get off of your feet break.

I don't do Star Tours now, I can't even imagine what it may be like in either 3-D or IMAX. :eek::eek:

CMs have a meeting and Disney every month or so to tell them whats coming soon and just all about whats going on. My brother a CM at RNRC, did say something was to be put in the ABC Theater!! They havent told them what it was yet

star tours has been rumoured since eps 1 came out with the pod race..............it does need updating even though we love it

I will miss the backlot tour also! When I was a kid and they were filming the New Mickey Mouse Club I loved doing this ride! I wish they would film things there again.
They will need some type of "behind the scenes" don't ya think? I love the costumes too!

We *really* hope it happens, it probably will in 2008 as it'll be the first time in 5 years we haven't been for halloween. :hehe: DD currently has me searching the internet for the Teen Sally costume for this year's MNSSHP. The youngest is going as The Corpse Bride......I have strange children......:hehe:

When i was a kid, they were actually filming things at MGM, and it did serve a point. Now it's just another ride that restarts every single time. You no longer even get to see the houses. :(

Loving these rumours by the way! I'll be glad to see a new parade at MGM - I do love it but it's been pretty much the same for such a long time now (I first saw this in 2002)

I don't want to squash anyones dreams, and this is my personal opinion, but based on what I found out during the KTK tour about how they go about casting etc, a meet and greet with Tinkerbell is not very likely. She enjoys her day job way too much!

Although there is (or was) a Tink in paris - but they set such high standards for their 'face' characters in WDW that the only realistic chance they have is getting the woman who does the stunt at the start of wishes to drop her job as a teacher and work for Disney full time. Which would probably mean a drastic pay cut!

By the way, the stuff about casting etc is not necessarily a part of the KTK tour. Someone (me) asked why they have a tinkerbell at wishes and had one at the pin event in 2005, but nowhere else. Basically, she picks and chooses any additional work she does on top of the highly dangerous stunt she does.

Every rumour sounds great, Animal Kingdom needs a nightime parade as it is the only park at WDW not to have an evening event.
