wedding dresses

hi folks this might be a stupid question but how do you get your wedding dress over to florida? do you have to put it your case our are there other options? jo likes to travel heavily if you no what i mean lol! so were abit woried about the weight allowance's! as always any help would be greatly appreciated! thanx:wacko:

I bought a box from an online company that was within allowed cabin baggage size and put it in that. My dress was quite big but it fitted in ok :)

My dress wouldnt fit in the boxes for the overhead locker, so i bought a hard shelled suitcase, some tape which said fragile all over it, and i put a laminated sign on the front saying "fragile, wedding dress enclosed" - i wrapped the tape all around the case - just so that they got the message! :lol: My dress had to go in the hold - i had no choice, virgin were excellent with it! :thumbs:

glad to here it got there safe!! we never even thought about getting the dress there till this morning!!

I didn't travel overseas so I didn't have weight limit concerns but I stuffed my dress with towels and rolled in around a sheet and put it into a carryon suitcase. My slip and other extras went into the packed luggage.

My DD carried her dress on to the plane she had asked in advance if she could do this, the cabin crew were very good they hung it up at the back of the plane,it was quite funny as she was told not fold the dress so we were carrying it on between the two of us like a body bag we kept getting strange looks and comments from people but all in good fun,this flight was Cyprus Air not sure about any other flights :unsure: #

when we got married the dress and my suit went 1st class with virgins the wife took it to 1st class but thats the nearest she will get there:lol:
