Help - Virgin are still not showing any Miles+Money flights for August, I was hoping to book this wekend for next Aug 14th. Anyone else experienced anything like this?

Sometimes it takes a while for miles+money to show up. I wouldn't worry, but I would check every day so you can snap them up as soon as they arrive

I just had a little play on there for you. Am not sure how long you're going for, but if it's 2 weeks from August 14th that'd take you up to August 28th, so that's longer than 11 months.....well, for a few days anyway

I know, but I have tried doing 16 nights before yesterday and it still doesn't bring any up!

Ah......like I said, I seem to remember Alec saying they can take a while to come out. Frustrating though, isn't it? We'll be in that exact same position next year.

We fly back to Gatwick! Just rang Virgin, the dates have been released but there aren't any M+M for the return! Plus the nice lady said that as the flight people are not in over the weekend only the dearest economy fare has been released so far (Virgin web quoting £2592.00 Opodo only £2217.00!) She asked me to call back on Monday and she can get me a better quote then. Hope so!

Its where if you have air miles saved with Virgin you can use some of those miles (usually 2000 for each person) to pay for part of you flights. so, you'd be paying less in cash..
make sense?

We collect miles, but never book miles and money fares, they are a waste of miles for us. The 'deals' are getting worse too and are not always what they seem. For example, I can book an UC fare for £1670 cash now for the dates I want on a Z fare. The same flight miles and money is over £2900 and 15,000 miles each! :rotfl:

This is so true!
We ALWAYS used miles and money but haven't all this year because the deals just haven't been worth it. Bear in mind, you don't gain any miles when you use miles too, so it has to be significantly cheaper to justify using them.
We save ours now for companion seats and the like

For the dates I wanted next August, the price for PE using miles plus money was £78 cheaper than a regular price!!
So far there's been no companion seats available either :(

We came to the conclusion that they are best used for 'free' flights where we'll only pay the taxes. We've saved enough for 3 of us to go UC to Sydney and are working on the 4th. We should pay around £850 total in taxes for all of us, where the flights would have cost around £12,000+. We still get our companion seats from our CC spend and our upgrades from economy to PE, so we use those on our Orlando trips. :)

When I rang to finally book our flights last week, M+M had all gone and there were no companion flights either! The economy price is £778 each. This would totally blow our budget out of the roof, so much for DIY. Have to wait now to see if they have any special offers and keep fingers crossed that there are flights left. If not we will have to cancel the hotel and miss out on WDW next year.

Thanks to everyone for their help, it's very useful. I started to save my Tesco Clubcard vouchers towards a Virgin holiday next year (either Anaheim or Orlando, haven't made mind up yet) Anyone else done that and was it an easy process?
