Just back off the newly introduced direct Glasgow - Orlando flight which went smoothly and thought I would update those interested as I couldn't find anybody who had used the flight in July.
All the check-in/ground staff worked for Virgin down in London and were brought up to Glasgow the day before the flight, many were from Scotland and used it as any opportunity to visit family.
Check-in was busy in economy (2 lanes) and PE(1 lane), but the longest queue was for the bag drop(1 lane) we had checked in online but we just joined the PE lane. Still took a while to finish dropping our bags off as staff were hunting through boxes for labels.
The aircraft was all cleaned/staffed and fuelled down at Manchester and then flew up to Glasgow arriving about an hour before departure.
Boarding the aircraft was a bit of a bun flight, despite UC then PE being called first it seemed like the entire flight plus a few hundred others all started trying to board.
The flight took off about 30 mins late but made up the time on the way over with at flight time of 7hrs 50mins.
The return flight left on time and made it back to Glasgow in 6hrs 50 mins
I would definatley use the Virgin direct flight again and for us was worth the extra money rather than changing flights at London.
