Has anyone had this happen to them prior to their Virgin Holiday?
I have received a telephone call this evening at 9pm from a British speaking Rep from Virgin in Florida to ask if I have any questions I would like to ask prior to my holiday over the christmas period. I said No Thankyou and although I did not give away any personal information other than confirm my name when I answered the phone and that I was away over the christmas period, I felt that the call may not have been legitimate. I phoned Virgin in the UK who said they were not aware that this was their practice and they gave me 2 numbers in Florida to call, neither of which existed when I phoned them. Also when I did the ring back 1471 no number was left.
Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Although I haven't had it happen to me, the whole virgin rep thing in florida seems very opportunistic and poorly organised, so I could imagine them deciding to try this without letting the rest of the organisation know.
We've had the whole "call this number for more information" thing, only to find it was a wrong number, happen many times with VH.
We once made the mistake of booking an excursion with them. No vouchers came, the rep in florida gave us the wrong number to call for their office and in the end when we tracked her down, basically told us to call the uk because she was "fedup of all the problems"
They've bonussed on how many excursions/trips etc they can book, so they do whatever it takes to get people to sign up
So yeah, I can well imagine it's a valid virgin holidays "customer care" exercise ;)

Many thanks. I fell into the trap when she said Florida! My usual response is to give abosolutely nothing away to anyone who phones up "off the cuff".

I have had a call from them before our past two trips. I was not concerned as they had all my holiday details and were just trying to sell me excursions/theme park tickets etc...

I had the call as well - trying to sell me excursions - I told her I would send her my itinerary and if she could possibly fit anything else in she was more than welcome

I had the call a couple of weeks ago,she then sent me an email(official)and we have communicated through that.I know it was official because i spoke to someone from Virgin and they comfirmed that the email address was correct.
