We've been on 10 Disney Cruises, we don't have kids, but the experiences we've seen with other cruisers and that many table mates have shared with us over dinner is that the kids have to be dragged out kicking and screaming out of the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Labs and the rest of the kid's activities at the end of the day.

At the beginning of every cruise they allow guests to have a look around the facilities before the kids start arriving, we've seen them and they are incredible. They are all located Deck 5 Midship, very secure. The theming is incredible and the activities top notch, there is a huge padded pirate ship area where they have storytelling with the Princesses, a "Lab" with activities, they make slime, look thru microscopes, play with computers and all sorts of other educational and fun activities.

For the teens, there is "The Stack" one of the funnels is actually a club for teens, they are also kept extremely busy with teen activities, music, get togethers, dances, etc.

Once you drop them off you will probably won't see them again until the end of the cruise  , that's maybe exaggerating, but the fact is that they will have the experience of a lifetime

We went on a cruise a few years back when our son was 4. He LOVED the room and refused to leave. I believe the room was open until midnight-ish. They will give you a beeper. There is one area for younger kids up to age 7 or 8 and then another area for older kids. I believe that you can allow your older child to sign themselves in or out. They are provided any meal that they are there for. I know for lunch they went down to a buffet together that had lots of kid friendly food. In the evening they had special activities and ended with movies on mats that the kids could lay down and rest.

We always made our son come out for dinner with us and then would offer to take him to a movie or show. He would always respond that he had to go back or he was going to miss something.

I forgot to add-- they even move the area to the island on the day that the boat docks at the private island.
