For anyone who's travelled PE with Virgin.....where, in your opinion are the best seats? From what I can see, they are all rows of two upstairs.

Paula/Alec recommended 79a/c to me and we really liked them! no one behind, by the stairs so easy to get out when the time comes, fruit juice/champagne ;-) etc right behind

There are rows 79 & 80 at the other side of the aisle too - sorry I forget the letters - maybe H & J. Row 80 is absolutely brilliant for the return journey as there is no-one behind. It's just at the top of the stairs where the crew leave drinks, papers and magazines.

I think the other side is slightly less good since 79 has 80 behind and 80 has a wall behind it slightly reducing the recline

We always try and get at the desk early and get row 75 which is the emergency exit row and the seats cannot be pre-booked as the check in folks have to satisy themselves that you are fit enough to operate the doors if you have to.
You literally have to get out of your seat and walk to the seat in front of you, there is so much legroom!
My second choice would be row 74 since you can recline your seat with reckless abandon for the reasons stated above.

I agree with Keith 79A and C are always a must for us, its nice to be able to recline without offending anyone plus next to the aisle seat of 79c there is a table/stand/box thingy which comes in very handy for popping things on especially if you have finished with your food tray and want to put the table back up so you can sleep.

In row 75, the screen is stowed away between the seats, they come up on arms to that you can position them where you want them
The tray is in your arm rest.

We treated ourselves to an upgrade to PE on our last flight from Manchester (Feb) and had seats 72 A and C. We were delighted with them, as we were with the whole experience.
The best bit, though, came at the end of the flight. Despite there being 420 people on board, as a result of priority disembarking and baggage reclaim we were at the airport exit just 25 minutes after landing. The Quicksilver driver couldn't believe it!

I have found this topic very useful, but can anyone tell me when you get to book your seats, can you do it online when you book your flights or do you have to wait.
thanks

You can select seats from 336 days from your return flight. :)

When you try to book your seats do you book for both ways or is it only for the outward journey? Theres only two of us going August 2009 and reading about the problems people are having with Virgin is a bit worrying. But i figure the flight is only a fraction of the holiday and no matter where we sit at least we are going to Disney!!!
Great thread by the way xx

We`ve always had our seats booked for the outward and inward bound journeys before we left the UK and so far [touch wood! :fingers:] we`ve not had a problem.
I`d be VERY surprised if VA started to upset their PE/UC customers by messing about with their seating arrangements too much seeing as they make a load of money out of these passengers.
