ok so we were pretty much set on te pavillion but I have been looking at pictures of it and as we are going to be having the intimate wedding I am thinking that it is too big and is just going to look empty .
Does anyone have any thoughts on this or any suggestions of anywhere else that might give us that wow factor.
We are getting married in feb so although I know it wont be cold I was wondering about the weather for an outside location...another reason we chose the pavillion.
I am now just going round in circles  so if anyone can attempt to sort my head out I would appreciate it!!!
Thanks

I have to say, the most "WOW" of the wow factor places will be the wedding pavilion. I believe Keith had an intimate wedding there, and didn't find it too empty?

The area of the boardwalk (not sure what it is properly called) where it is under cover? That's very nice, but you have all sorts of folks walking by and gawking at you.

There is a lovely location in a side garden at the Swan.

You could always have the ceremony in the reception room. The location could be the wow factor if not the actual room?

I've seen several weddings going on at the Yacht Club wedding gazebo. Even though people walking by can see into the garden, it's several yards away so you will still have privacy.

Click here (http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&ll=28.369997,-81.558385&spn=0.0016,0.002494&t=h&z=19&msid=109680680653972892249.000446fc39b9d5d8bdbd7) for the Google Map showing the location of the Yatch Club Wedding Gazebo. Notice how there is a berm at the entry. I also show the foot path so you can see the distance from it to the gazebo.

The WP seems to have a special kind of magic, and even if there are just two people in there it doesn't look empty :)
I've been to an intimate wedding there with only a handful of people and it didn't look or feel empty.

If you did want an alternative, like SM said Yacht Club Gazebo is nice. I also like Sunset Pointe at the Polynesian and Seabreeze Pointe at the BoardWalk.

The Yacht Club pavillion is a nice location - our ground floor room overlooked it last year and we witnessed some weddings with just a few guests.

There is a lovely garden at the Cottages in the Boardwalk Inn too. I'm not a fan of that resort, but this particular location is quite lovely. I don't know if they do weddings there, but you could ask.

Seabreeze Point! That's the name of the place on the boardwalk! Thanks Joanne.

I don't know if they do weddings there, but you could ask.

They will arrange weddings anywhere you want on property

One day I was in front of the American Adventure and a wedding party was going around the backstage access and into the attraction, they had reserved the Rotunda for their reception. This was around 6:00 in the afternoon and they were letting guests into the attraction through the exit

I've known of weddings being performed on a boat on Bay Lake, in the Piazza in Italy, after hours at the waterparks...

Oh that is so nice to know! I had some aquaintances marry in the rotunda. I wonder if that was the party you saw?

I think the Cottages gardens at BWI would be lovely. There is that great staircase for the bride to walk down...

We had an intimate wedding in the pavillion. We had 10 guests which included 2 children. It really didnt feel empty at all. The pavillion certainly has the WOW factor! I cried the first time I visited there on our planning trip!

We're getting married in the Yacht club resort wedding gazebo which looks gorgeous. I think it says somewhre in the Disney blurb that if you are a small party and a larger party wants the paviliion they'll move you outside into the garden, so maybe you can just go for this straight off? Otherwise the terrace at the Wilderness Lodge looks lovely in photos

The Wedding Gazebo is still tops since it is at the GF and you have the Castle in the distance, second choice for a really small wedding would be on a boat again with the castle as the back drop. Ultimately whatever you choose will be just fabulous as long as you both are there.

I know I am just going back and forth now but I am now looking
at anywhere off site to get married
I have decided that if they cant guarentee me inside the
pavillion then I dont want to settle for anywhere else onsite :(
If they can then I will defo be doing it here!!!!!
but just incase have any of you lovely people  either gotten married
or been to a wedding anywhere else
I am so worried about all this I need to take 4 weeks off work for the wedding and holiday so I dont have the time to go out and look at places
myself
the whole thing is just confusing me the more I look at it

Have been, and taken photos at, other locations (will see what I can dig out) but in my humble opinion, if you have your heart set on a Disney wedding, offsite just won't cut it.

They WILL be able to guarantee you the wedding pavilion, it's just a matter of getting it in writing from them. I wouldn't compromise

Leu Gardens in Winter Park/Orlando is beautiful. Many folks get married there.

Another beautiful wedding place is Bok Tower south of Orlando.

my parents called for me last week and they just said that they think
we can book just that but didnt really know what they were talking about
doesnt fill me with confidence.....It is obviously cost around £3000 more to book the pavillion rather than offsite which I dont mind doing as long as I am getting what I want
If I get there and they move me I will be devestated
have been waiting 8 and a half years to walk down that aisle and it needs to be perfect lol

Some people do great with the disney wedding dept, others, including me, thought they were shockingly poor for the money.

HOWEVER, once you've engaged with them, you will be able to get into the specifics, get a pricing and contract agreed. Then what you book will be what you get barring some major disaster.

When you just phone/email and have a general "I maybe interested...." they just don't take the time to listen to you in my experience. I guess so many people phone up just to see, so they don't take you seriously until you get a bit further along the process.

We got married at the Disney Swan hotel, you can see pictures of the courtyard on their website. there is a private courtyard inside of the hotel (but outside if you see what i mean?!) which is where we married and there is also a place outside of the hotel although i cant remember the name of it now!
I booked ours through Virgin and we had no problems whatsoever. The photographer we had was brilliant and we have some wonderful photos - he took us all around the grounds of the hotel and onto the beach which is the photo in my signature.
Rosie0610 also got married at the swan and her wedding was beautiful too

I did get married at the Swan too! It rained for me however and we had to be moved inside. Kate got some great outside shots which I'm very jealous of! :)
One great thing about the Swan wedding was we could invite as many people as we wanted for no extra costs. The flowers were fantastic as they worked off pictures I sent and lasted for days and the cake was delicious. We also got champagne and they allowed us to bring in more at our own costs and we only had to pay a pouring fee. I thought the outside Swan location was beautiful. It's right beside the water tucked behind the back of the Boardwalk and lined with Palm trees. Look around in this site for pictures I posted of the wedding location.

ok so I thought I would update you all
I have spoken to a lovely lady called doreen who is a co ordinator and she has assured me that as long as I have it written into my contract they can not move me outside
this has definetly put my mind at ease (for this part of the wedding anyway lol)
