Hi I've been looking at escape wedding locations and wondered if anyone knew of a private location other than the wedding pavilion, as I can't stand the idea of strangers gawking at us and taking pictures as we say our vows.

Cant help MUCH except to say, strangers arent allowed in the pavilion, or indeed across the bridge to it, when a private wedding is in progress.

There was certainly no one gawking at us when we had ours there but then again, why would anyone?

Hi Tinky Bell-
To be honest with you I did my Vow Renewal at the Chapel and it was very private. However, they do them in the Poly outside with a nice area, I just don't know if it would be as private as the Chapel.

BW seabreeze point is VERY out in the open. Very public.

Maybe the gazeebo at the YC isn't as public. NOt sure if anyone has pictures of that. At one time they had a spot at the AKL on a balcony. Not sure if they do that anymore.

You can also do the parks before opening or the ballrooms in the GF and YC there is another one or two but those are the ones I remember right now

Unless you are indoors at the Wedding Pavillion or an actual room, you will be in the view of the public. I've seen folks pause and have a look, but not ever seen anyone taking photos of weddings (other than the obvious photographer).

If you don't want to be in public view, then the Wedding Pavillion is your best best or a generic "conference" room set up.

Escape weddings are only at these set locations: Wedding Pavilion, Sunset Pointe (Polynesian), Yacht Club Wedding Gazebo, , SeaBreeze Pointe (BoardWalk), Sunrise Terrace (Wilderness Lodge).
Of those, the Wedding Pavilion is most private. As Keith says, no one is allowed over the bridge when a wedding is taking place.
You're going to get people around at any of the outdoor locations. Yacht Club Wedding Gazebo is set back from the public walkway, but surrounded by guest rooms. I remember when I stayed there as wedding was going on just outside my room.
Sunrise Terrace at Wilderness Lodge is indoors and semi-private, although still viewable by anyone passing.
Theme Park locations and conference rooms are only available for Wishes weddings.

I guess this is the Terrace I was thinking of WL not AKL, thanks Joanne!

My wife and I on our 25th wedding anniversary renewed our vows at Sunset Point at the Polynesian. It is out in the open. However we found that people did not cause any problem. Everyone that did walk by, not many, were very respectful of what was going on.

Good Luck,
John
