After 5 years of nagging, I think I have finally made my fiancee see sense mainly due to the cost of wedding in UK and how much nicer it would be in WDW!

All I need now is help lol

We do not plan to get married until 2010 but we are hoping to at least price it up if we can?

Does anyone know how I go about pricing up the wedding packages and where I could get brochures from?

Anyone that has got married before in the GF have you got a rough idea on cost?

We are planning on inviting people to come but they will be buying their own flights and will prob stay in a villa or something.

Depending on the numbers, we may have a big / small wedding reception and was just going to try and find out an approx cost for that too, one of the rooms in the GF or maybe the swan or something?

THanks for your help

P.S this is the best day ever!! :D

Nick-
I renewed my wedding vows at the Chapel in the GF and we had 22 people that cost me $6000+ dollars. But I wouldn't have had it any other way. We had a fabulous time and we spent 3 weeks in Orlando. If you PM me I will be more than happy to share any information I have here about Fairytale Weddings.

I haven't planned or looked into planning a wedding at WDW, but I think the firststep has to be either calling WDW and speaking to a reservation specialist; I'm sure they can direct you to the correct people to help plan and price your affair: or since you are in the UK it might be more prudent to see a travel agent and ask if they have any information or suggestions on how to do this.
Best of Luck and Congrats

That price did not include flights and accomodations. It did include the musicians, the chapel, the flowers, champagne, cake, limo and the cake topper. They gave us a set of matching watches as a "wedding" gift. I worked on this renewal for a year before it finally happened.

Thanks. Im a UK Travel agent but I have never dealt with Disney weddings. I have sent customers to orlando and they have got married in the little chapple in kissimmee but not an "onsite" wedding..

The internet doesnt bring much info to be honest, ive tried looking at different venues but cannot seem to find much. Since we have stayed at the GF a few times we would prefer to get married in the wedding pavillion. But if it ends up being the same or not much cheaper than here, then ill lose my battle again lol

Did you have an evening meal or a daytime meal with it?

I think what Nicola would want is to get married in the Pavillion and then to have a meal either at the GF or somewhere else. I suppose it doesnt have to be a full wedding meal but it would be worth pricing the difference..

The renewals they don't give meals just hte cake and champagne so my oldest daughter paid for the 22 of us to eat at Spoodles for dinner that night. The cake was sent to Spoodles so we could do our reception.

There are several folks here on the site who have gotten married at WDW including Joanne and Kilted Warrior. Disney weddings are NOT cheap by any means but I don't think I have ever heard anyone say they regretted having their wedding at WDW.

Where there's a will, there's a way . Just set your mind on there is NO WHERE else to get married and you can make it happen!!!

I know yea, Id personally rather pay $25000 for a wedding in MK than £20,000+ ($38,000+)for a wedding here

We may even get married at a nearby hotel too, lots of different options, just need to find out what they are and look into them!

Cheers

hello! I got married at the Swan. I wouldn't have had it any other way. It was the perfect option for me as DH isn't too into WDW. The swan was a little cheaper and at the time allowed us to have the number of people we wanted for an intimate wedding.

After the ceremony we had a cake reception in one of the ballrooms and then later in the night we went to Ohana's for dinner. (yes cake before dinner but it was still good! we also had a veggie platter and fruit at the cake reception.)

I got married quite a few years ago but feel free to PM me for details.

Good luck planning :)
