:wavesmileHi There!
Can I put all of my stuff here?! :D I have a lot of thoughts and ideas that I need to put down somewhere!
I will edit this post for a more formal introduction, hopefully tomorrow, but for now I will just say - we are hoping for August 2010. I see a whole lot of saving along the way! We've told our families that we are getting married in Florida in 2010, I just hope we don't have to push it back a year to 2011, but if it means getting the things we want included in the wedding - then so be it!
I've started a few projects already! I'm working on Save the Dates and the First Newsletter at the moment. The STDs are designed like airplane tickets and they're really cute! The Newsletter will have all the information needed at this stage (hopefully to be sent out after the Preliminary RSVPs come back with the STDs) including everything about flights, accommodation, tickets, general florida tips, need to knows, wedding events - I want to entice people to my wedding
No idea of wedding colours at the moment - I like chocolate brown, pink and cream/champagne, but have no idea. I will definitely be wearing white!
Here are a few ideas (subject to change! I have photos of a lot of ideas so I will add them when I get a chance!):
Ceremony - Wedding Pavilion (Must Have!) 2pm/2.30pm ceremony
Officiant - No idea yet, hopefully someone non-denominational, but whoever we click with
Transport - Rolls Royce (Carriage would be nice, but not a must-have ATM! Weirdly, I thought I would be gutted if I couldn't have it!)
Entertainment - Organist (You know who we would love here and at the Reception? Four for a Dollar/Return to Zero!!)
Flowers - I thought I wanted Calla Lillies, as lillies are my favourites, but I love the look of pink roses with stephanotis!
Decor - White/Cream aisle runner with rose petals either side. Glass vases with flowers inside and floating candles on top. I'm really bad at describing stuff! I want something that sort of looks like the Couture Wedding Decor, however not as extravaggant as I think the WP looks beautiful as it is.
Pre-Reception Cocktail Hour - The Summerhouse at the GF
Transport (to reception) - Monorail! (I just have this thing about going on the Monorail in my wedding dress )
Reception - Napa Room, California Grill (Umming and Ahhing about Whitehall Room too, but the food at CG was amazing when we ate here and would love something similar for our wedding meal)
Entertainment - Violinist whilst we eat. For now, we'll be our own DJs until we know how many people are coming. I don't want to get a DJ if only 10 people come! Playlists on an iPod will be good for me, as long as we get a first dance! We'll also have Donald Duck, who is a must! If we add a 2nd character, it will be Mickey Mouse.
Dessert Party - UK Pavilion. I love that you get to be in a theme park in your dress. However I would consider one of the GF Dessert Parties as I just LOVE Wishes.
Photography - I'm not sure yet. I'm leaning more towards Randy Chapman as I do love his photos. However Misty Miotto and Rootography I love as well, so we'll have to look as more pics! We'll also be doing the Magic Kingdom Photo Shoot.
Videography - Probably Stan at STVS.
Welcome Dinner - Whispering Canyon Cafe
Rehearsal Dinner - Biergarten
Newlyweds Breakfast - Kona Cafe
I'll be doing everything I can - STDs, Newsletters, Invitations, Programs, Menus, etc... etc...
We'll be going for 3 weeks and we want our families to have a brilliant holiday too, so we'll probably be staying half WDW, half I Drive so they can experience all the other parks too, especially as my parents haven't been to the USA. If someone volunteers to drive, like DF's Dad who's been before, then we might stay at WDW the whole time.
We also wanted to do DCL for our honeymoon, so we might do a 4 Night again and then come back to WDW. We know we want to stay at AKL and the Poly when we return, and have our wedding night at the GF :hehe:
LET THE PLANNING BEGIN!!

That all sounds absolutely lovely Hayley. It sounds as though you've been planning this for ages and no-one could ever accuse you of hanging around. :)
I wish you and Els well with your plans and hope it all works out for you.

We had both Randy and Stan and I can highly recommend both
If you go for a DJ, Scooter is THE best!

Have fun, but remember, the important thing is the marriage, not the wedding.
My best advice? Do what you both want. There will be moans from certain friends and relatives, but the will fall into line eventually.
13 years for us this year, and I've loved every minute of it!

Sounds great, Hayley, doesn't sound like you need much help from us, you have it all in mind already! I hope you get everything you want and have a magical day (sorry, Marie, I stole your catchphrase!)
Looking forward to hearing more of your plans. My 11th wedding anniversary in 2 weeks, and I can still remember every detail of my wedding.

Wow, that all sounds fantastic.
I can second Randy Chapman, he did ours and he was fantastic.
I rode the monorail in my wedding dress, certainly got a few looks, but it was great fun! :D
Looking forward to hearing more. :)

September 23rd, 2008, 10:23
Thanks Guys :)
I have no idea why I want to ride the Monorail in my wedding dress  If we have a DJ, I'll definitely make a note of DJ Scooter!
I may be going overboard with the Newsletter, I'm already at 18 pages - I want our families and friends to have as much info as possible, as most of them have never been before!

Better to have too much information Hayley than not enough. Im sure the first timers who come to Disney for your wedding will be thanking you for the long notes when the trip comes around :)

Hayley, you could borrow a copy of our wedding DVD if you like. It will give you a good idea about STVS. Stan did send us a sample one before we chose him but it wasn't very long.

Hayley I am so jealous that you are having a Disney wedding. I would of loved one but couldn't convince my family or FH to agree. Now that we are bogged down with planning FH wishes he would of listened to me. At least we are doing a Dinseymoon. I can't wait to hear all about your planning along the way. It's going to be an amazing experience for you. If you need any help let me know....I've been trying to do a lot of stuff myself to save money for ours. I actually go to projectwedding.com and they have lots of ideas for weddings.

Oh wow that all sounds so amazing!!! Paul says he wants a disney wedding too!!! But oh my gosh, I wouldn't even know where to start. Haylea you seem so organised, it's amazing... Where did you get all the ideas from? I love all the ideas!

September 24th, 2008, 10:55
Thanks Joanne :) That would be awesome!
Just having a look on Project Wedding now :D I'll have a nose through that!!
All my ideas are literally browsing the internet, and ahem, borrowing from other brides! If I see a photo of something I like, I'll save it to a folder in my desktop - that's really handy actually cos then I can go back and look! Definitely start doing that!
It will be you guys next then :D

I'm so excited to start planning!!
I think we're 95% sure we're having it in Florida. No one has given us any grief yet, which I'm really surprised about! DF says he is set on having it in Disney - just in case I'm looking at some UK venues as well, in case Disney falls through or no one comes!

September 24th, 2008, 16:31
Hayley if you register on projectwedding let me know. I'm Meg1884 on there and I think there is a way to search for people on there to add as friends. I love all the ideas on there and I love adding to my profile each time I add something to the wedding.

That's a good idea!
What about the dress? Would you ever consider the 'Disney Inspired' dresses, designed by Kirstie Kelly?
hayleyneeyore
September 25th, 2008, 11:00
Hmm I do like them, but I'm not sure if any of them are "the one" :)
I like the pick-up dresses and also the more 'princessy' chiffon skirt - I love Bec's dress :D
How about you? Have you started planning yet?

I've been working a bit on our Save the Dates, probably because those will be the first things that go out once we've firmly decided that we are definitely getting married in WDW, and we are definitely getting married in 2010!
I'm hoping these can go out around Jan 2009, and they will go with a provisional RSVP. Once we get those back and get an idea of who is coming, I'll then send out a newsletter to those marked 'Definitely Coming' and 'Unsure' - because once they read the newsletter, they'll definitely want to come right?!
They'll look like this:
http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/6113/natashabpassstdwebiz6.jpg
http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/2073/pict1949gf0.jpg
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/3949/6a00d8345252b269e200e54go5.jpg
I think they are really cute! Themed as airline tickets! I've more or less finished a rough copy of ours, so when I eventually print them out and make a mock STD, I'll post a photo up!

OMG everything you have planned sounds beautiful. I was thinking that if you need a flower girls I will be happy to serve as one. :rotfl: Sure, I will be gasp! 40 by then , and I don't think that I will look that good in a flower girls dress  but I will be willing to oblige. I look forward to reading the rest of your entries. :D

Elin, I know what you mean with the Enchanted dress - I was expecting something a lot more princessy, since THE dress in Enchanted is huge!!

For our Thank You cards for our engagement presents, I was going to handmake all the cards, and I had a very specific idea of what I wanted. A sort of formal folded card, with vellum sheet, etc.. etc.. But then I thought I'd get a chance to go all formal with the actual Wedding Invitation, plus it's going to be very busy at work over the next few weeks, so I wouldn't have the time to handmake so many cards.
So, this is what I came up with. I decided to create an image that I could then upload to a website like Snapfish or Kodak or whatever and make photocards out of them to send to people. Inside the card would have the 'Thank You' message.
PLUS it helps when someone else reads the card, so if anyone spots a typo, please let me know!!

All my 'cake idea' pics are on my laptop, so here are a few :D
I love the idea of the Bridge of Happiness Cake but I think it's too fussy:

I'd love this if we were having an 'Under the Sea' themed wedding:

I LOVE the Mad Hatter and this will probably be it, but in Wedding colours:

I loved the bridge one too when I saw it. I think it was one of the new ones when we were planning. But it worked out way more expensive so we went for the standard castle cake and fresh flowers which turned out amazing.

oh my goodness you are way more organised than me and we go in 4 months!!!!!! oh no typeing it made me have a sudden panic attack I NEED to finalise things!!!! lol
where did you find those pics of the cakes havent seen them before, have my wedding pack through and they are all quite plain
hayleyneeyore
October 8th, 2008, 17:17
They are some of the custom wedding cakes you can have - I believe with an Escape wedding you can upgrade your cake if you like, but it does cost you!
I bet you could ask your planner for a smaller version of the Mad Hatter or something like that though. Disney can more or less replicate any cake, within reason, so if you like something you've seen, no harm in asking your planner how much it will cost to upgrade!!
Thanks Ashley!!! Glad to see you back!!!

This has sort of been neglected a bit - I've been so busy! Seems that is my new catchphrase  This week is a bit lighter than last so hopefully you'll see a bit more of me :D
At the moment we are writing absolutely everything down that we can think of that has a cost, right down to the stamps needed to send the STDs, so we can work out some sort of budget and a goal of what we need to save for.
If anyone has any tips or advice on budgeting and saving money, I would love to hear it! :)

hmm the only tip i got which is a poor one, is whenever you go out on a night out (Rare occassion right now) any change you have, just put it in a pot.
Also any two pound coins you got, save them.. thats how my mum and dad save for their holidays.
I know it'll little money, but it's something!!

Planning So Far...
Good advice :)
I took all day Monday just to myself to budget some stuff and see what we could get for our money. We are planning on a Wishes wedding, and I want to stay as close to the $10,000 minimum as possible  TBH I don't see a huge amount of people coming, and that's fine, as it'll keep our costs down.
Up until Monday we were still to-ing and fro-ing about whether to do it in Florida or not. DF's parents are totally on board, which I was really surprised about, and mine have said they'll come, but I want to make extra sure that they're OK with it before I start getting super excited. I 100% want to get married in WDW, but my parents are a dealbreaker for me - so I'll see them tomorrow night, and then hopefully we can send out some Save the Dates! I wanted to send them after Xmas, DF wants to send them ASAP - he's more excited than I am at the moment!
This is where we're at so far:
Ceremony
-Wedding Pavilion - I always thought I'd get married around 12pm, but I am considering a ceremony closer to 4pm
http://z.about.com/d/honeymoons/1/5/Q/S/DW10-YU3-96_1830.jpg
http://www.romanticbeginnings.com/dispav.jpg
http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/8184/img2282zg6.jpg
http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/2733/img7866copyyv2.jpg
http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/3210/img7869copymo8.jpg
http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/5339/img7851copyqj0.jpg
-Guest Transport: Motor Coach for 8 hours (if we get a really small number of guests and we all stay in the same place we might scrap this)
-Wedding Pavilion Decor (Aisle Runner, Petals both sides of runner and candles in 'vases')
http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/5227/1017at7443gv1jm0.jpg
http://img399.imageshack.us/img399/1074/wpzo0.jpg
Those pics are of one of the Custom weddings - beautiful, huh?! I'd like the decor to be loosely based on this - I love the aisle runner and the petals.
http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/8332/wpdecorwq0.jpg
It will probably end up looking more like this, but without the flowers on pillars. I love the swagging between the pews though! I'd like the runner to be wider and the petals piled on each side, more like the Custom pics.
http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/9623/floatingweddingcandlesai4.jpg
Something like this at every other pew. The petals however would be white rose petals. The vases maybe a little bigger.
-Bridal Bouquet - For some reason I always thought I would have Calla Lillies as my wedding bouquet. However, I've fallen in love with Roses and Stephanotis. They won't be in red - they'll be in my wedding colours and the roses will be all 1 colour.
http://www.sophiasflowers.com/images/boquet/Roses-Stephanotis-bouquet_.jpg
http://prettypetalscolorado.com/pictures/g130.jpg
-Boutonnieres for Groom, Best Man, Bride's Father, Groom's Father
I haven't really thought about what boutonnieres! Maybe a white rose? Not sure!
-Corsages for Bride's Mother, Groom's Mother
I want something they can pin on their outfits - maybe something loosely based around my bouquet with roses and stephanotis?
-Rose Wand for Bridesmaid - something really simple here! I don't even know who my bridesmaid will be yet, I'll probably only have 1 - it depends who comes! I these are so cute:
http://img523.imageshack.us/img523/8090/rosewandstiggsey6.jpg
Something like that in our wedding colours
-Officiant - Not sure. We'd like a non-denominational ceremony, but still romantic and meaningful. I don't mind getting married by a religious person, I just don't want anything religious in the ceremony!
Crypacks, Programs, Confetti Packs/Bubbles - Will all be made by me!
Entertainment - Organist at the Pavilion.
Music - Another thing I don't really want to go traditional with. I would love nothing better than to come into 'I Do, I Do, I Do' by Abba, that's so me  But DF might not marry me so we might have to compromise! I'd love the recessional to be 'Wouldn't It Be Nice' by the Beach Boys! Music is something we'll probably decide closer to the date.
Sand Ceremony - I'd like to add something like this to the Ceremony to make our time at the Pavilion longer! I found a ceremony with really nice words, saying something like: " …. this relationship is symbolized through the pouring of these two individual containers of sand representing all that you were and all that you are, and all that you will ever be. As these two containers of sand are poured into the third container, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured back again, so will your marriage be."
http://perfectweddingmemories.com/SandCeremony3.jpg
We haven't decided on the containers yet - plus it will be something nice to keep once it's over.
Reception
-Transport to Reception - Monorail! We'll be taking photos whilst the guests are transported to location by coach and have the Pre-Reception. After taking photos, I want to get the Monorail from the GF to the Contemporary. I love the monorail, I'm easily pleased!
http://img300.imageshack.us/img300/484/monorail1yo2.jpg
-Pre-Reception Location - California Grill. I was hoping they could do something in the bit where you just come out of the lift of CG and there's a little seating/bar area - but I guess if we have a later ceremony the CG will be open for business. I don't really want the pre-reception in the same room, I'll have to ask them for options. I was planning on having different hand passed Flatbreads for snacks:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3004/2464696640_1340252e71.jpg?v=0
And for drinks, bottles of water with those cute wedding labels on for everyone handed out when they come in, and a Cocktail Menu at the bar billed on consumption (to us). I LOVE this one and have to include it somewhere (but with different drinks!):
http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/9378/47b6cc26b3127cce8fadef4xr0.jpg
Reception Location: Napa Room, California Grill. I think the room size would be perfect for us, it has a tiny dancefloor for our first dance, it has a little bar, and an amazing view for the Magic Kingdom. I was also considering the Whitehall Room at the GF, and I love the Attic, but I don't like the fact that you can't change the mismatched tables.
http://www.magicalkingdoms.com/ftw/photos/napasonoma/napa.jpg
http://www.magicalkingdoms.com/ftw/photos/napasonoma/napa3.jpg
-Chair Covers & Bows for reception - Just the covers and bows here, the bows will match the wedding colours.
http://www.elegancechaircovers.com/userimages/ccalone.jpg
-Linens, Chargers, Napkins - Haven't decided on any of this yet!
-Place Cards & Menu Cards - I'll be doing these myself
-Centrepieces - I hope to 'recycle' the candles in jars from the WP to here to use as Centrepieces.
-Reception Menu - I know that the California Grill is the least flexible with the menu, however I was hoping to select the dishes from the CG Menu. Starting with a choice of Crab Cakes or the Goat's Cheese Ravioli, then the surprise them with the Slipper Sorbet:
http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/9190/slipperdd7.jpg
Then, a choice of the Filet Mignon with mash, green beans and Teriyaki BBQ sauce (this is awesome!!), a chicken/pork dish and a vegetarian dish.
For dessert, and I agree this might be cheap of me, I was thinking of serving the Wedding Cake with an accompaniment of ice cream or something. The reason being, WDW Wedding Cakes are expensive. We won't have a ton of guests. I don't want all that cake and money going to waste. Our guests will be stuffed and I don't want them to toss the wedding cake after getting back to their hotel.... please tell me if I'm wrong!!
Reception Drinks - We'll have an open beer and wine bar for 3 hours, and Champagne for the toasts.
-Pre-Reception & Reception Entertainment: Violinist (not sure about this - might get other kind of music) DF would love 4 for a Dollar from the Beauty and the Beast show to come and sing. I don't think we'll have enough guests to make a DJ worth it. I'm thinking of just setting up an iPod and having music piped through the room's sound system like a lot of other brides have done.
-Entertainment - Donald Duck! According to DF this is a must.
http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb191/ecoon5/donald.jpg
-Wedding Cake (Mad Hatter Cake) - I think the wedding cake will definitely be a Mad Hatter. It's just so different to what you usually get over here! DF really loves this one we saw in the window of Francks - I know you can get different patterns as well, so I'm not sure I'd stick with the hearts, and it'd be in our wedding colours again.
http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/360/img2985zu0.jpg
Favours - Not too sure again. I LOVE the idea of having a Candy bar, so I might give little boxes out as favours and get everyone to help themselves to a small candy bar.
http://farfallawedding.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/candy-buffet.jpg
http://www.getquickcare.com/yellow-wedding-candy-buffet.jpg
After Reception
-Grand 1 - I'm hoping to snag the Grand 1 on the night of our wedding, so we can all go watch Wishes in style!
http://wdwnews.com/assets/images/printable/0719AT_1855GD35055639.jpg
-Photography & Videography - We're not going with Disney on this. I think we'll use STVS for videography. For photography, I'm not sure. Either Randy Chapman or Rootography - I love them both and their styles. DF can help me choose!

Hey Hayley, I've been looking for you, and now I have finally found you. I spoke to you a bit on another board, you may remember me as I sent you a few PM's about your first Disney trip asking about your helicopter tour and gift baskets and you commented on my trip report, 'Our Magical WDW Adventure'.
Anyhoo I saw from another board that you were getting married and read a brief bit about your proposal from your recent trip and really wanted to hear all about your plans. I knew you would post them somewhere and so glad I have found them, and so glad you are sharing them.
First of all congratulations, I am really happy for you and Els. And I know that this must be your absolute dream, first getting engaged at Disney and now getting married there. How far you have come from a few short years ago when you were writing your pre-trippie and so, so excited about your first trip to Disney. I was with you the whole way and really enjoyed reading your reports as your excitement was contagious. And now I get to hear all about your wedding planning, how exciting.
Anyway have fun planning sweetie, I know your wedding will be a true fairytale.
Sammie. xxx

Don't tempt me Paula  I might just move to Disney and be a wedding planner there :D
So nice to hear from you Sammie! And thanks for joining :) This is a great board
It's great to have all my ideas in one place! It'd be handy just to print this out when I really get into planning!
We hope to get into the save the dates this weekend, I think when we get those out, it'll feel official :)

LOVE the vases with flowers in. You should have no problem getting those shifted to the reception afterwards. As soon as our ceremony was over the floral people moved in and took the flowers we'd used on the altar over to the GF and they were there on our table for the reception.
IF you can't afford the aisle runner and stuff (they can work out expensive), don't despair as the WP is beautiful enough on it's own
Slipper sorbet was a huge hit for our guests. They all kept the lights from underneath and we had an impromptu rendition of "Angels" with them all waving their lights mid-reception
One thing about an open bar. We went with paying for unlimited drinks for everyone as we had a few big drinkers. But in the end that was a big waste of money as everyone was so busy having fun they hardly drank  Would have been much better for us to do billed on consumption
Biggest expense for us was easily food and drink, so if you don't have a huge number of guests I reckon it will be easier for you to keep to your minimum
Love the candy bar, never seen those before
You can now get a discount if you use Randy & Stan together. Will send you that dvd soon, I promise!

Your ideas sound just wonderful Hayley!!!! All the planning is great!
hayleyneeyore
October 24th, 2008, 00:15
Thank You :) and thanks for the tips Joanne, especially those about the billing on consumption - to be honest, I've been trying to figure out what would be cheaper. I think we have to hit $500 on the bar or we pay $100 for a bartender, but I guess it depends on how many of us go! I'm doing a BOC for the pre-reception and having a 'Cocktail Menu' with 4 choices on, and some bottles of water as people walk in from the heat - I thought that would be best rather than have them hand out Bucks Fizz or something straight off the bat.
Do you know if you can get a pre-reception at one resort and a reception at another? I'm thinking Summerhouse and Napa Room :)

Do you know if you can get a pre-reception at one resort and a reception at another? I'm thinking Summerhouse and Napa Room :)
For the pre-reception we had pink lemonade (our favourite) & bottles of water. It was boiling hot outside at the summerhouse so it worked out well, along with the fruit and yoghurt dips we had too.
Yep, you can split pre-reception & reception venues AFAIK, so long as you provide transport in between and allow for travelling time.
hayleyneeyore
October 28th, 2008, 16:15
Thanks Jo :) The fruit and veg dips would work perfectly I think!
I would love the pre-reception to be either at The Summerhouse or at Commander's Terrace where they do the Escape cake and champagne reception. I think it's really pretty up there!
Still not sure about the reception location - I think we have sort of decided on the Napa Room at the Contemporary.
The only thing is, I've seen lots of Boardwalk photos which I love, but we aren't going anywhere near the Boardwalk :( I was thinking of The Attic just for this reason, but I'm really not sure about the decor there
We've also started thinking about the holiday itself, which is really getting us excited!! Everyone is probably going to come for 2 weeks, and we're going to stay an extra week to ourselves I think. A week at Disney, a week on I Drive, then we'll be going back to Disney for a week. I think my mum and dad at least will be with us for the first week and I am so excited to show them around Orlando! We're planning on staying at Disney's Wilderness Lodge for the first week (with me staying at the Grand Floridian on the night before our wedding with my mum); Sheraton Studio City: Four Points for the 2nd week; and then back to Disney, hopefully staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge for the last week. We were thinking of staying at the Poly, but we really want to try somewhere new and these are 2 hotels we've been dying to stay at :D I'm really excited!!
joanne
October 28th, 2008, 16:24
We were originally supposed to be using the BoardWalk, but a convention came up (which get priority) so we had to look for somewhere else. I'm really glad that happened as I loved where we ended up :)
I think it was St James Room at the Bwk we were originally using for the pre-recep, with reception at one of the convention rooms.
Follow your heart and do what you both want to do :)
hayleyneeyore
October 28th, 2008, 16:35
Did you end up using Whitehall or one of the other rooms at the GF?
I LOVE the BW pics! I definitely need to have a think about it! We could go for an earlier ceremony, have a gap and then a reception, but I don't want to waste the guests' day. I don't want to see DF before the ceremony either
Of course it also depends on the numbers coming - I think we'd rattle around a larger venue, but I might be surprised at the numbers which show
joanne
October 28th, 2008, 16:40
For pre-recep we used Summerhouse which was totally perfect
For reception we used St Augustine ballrooms at the GF. Don't worry about numbers. They'll just partition off rooms so it doesn't look too big. There are 4 St Augustine rooms and they sectioned off so we had, I think it was A & B, and the size was perfect :)
Did you scrap the idea of IllumiNations party?
hayleyneeyore
October 28th, 2008, 16:57
I was hoping of having an IllumiNations Dessert Party, but again I wasn't too sure with numbers - if quite a few turn out, then I would definitely consider having one.
If we have less than 18, I think we are going to get the Grand 1 (or try to!) and take it out to see Wishes. Or even if we have more than 18, a Dessert Party at Sago Cay Point, GF to watch Wishes. I absolutely LOVE Wishes and I think out on Seven Seas is the best way to see them. IllumiNations are fantastic but Wishes are definitely my favourite!
I'm thinking of now having the ceremony at around 4pm, then we can go straight to pre-reception, reception, and then straight from the reception to the GF Marina :) That's my plan at the moment anyway - until I change my mind
joanne
October 28th, 2008, 17:09
If you're wanting to do a dessert party or fireworks cruise, 4pm might be a little late
Ceremony takes about 1/2 hour, pre-recep I think is 1/2 hour, or was it an hour  Reception is usually 4 hours. Our ceremony was 2pm and we had to leg it over to Epcot for 8:30pm for the start of the dessert party. And believe me it will fly by!
Unless Wishes is quite late, like 10pm, 4pm would be cutting it fine :worried:
joanne
October 28th, 2008, 17:10
Actually, remembered now, pre-recep was an hour. We spent first half hour having our photos at the WP. Then went over there for 15 mins, then they took us to see the reception room before the guests went in.
Kate2005
October 28th, 2008, 17:17
Its surprising how long it all takes isnt it. I was shocked to find out that all of our photos had taken well over an hour, the time just absolutely flies by and it was so lovely to be wandering around in our wedding outfits having people saying how lovely we looked!
hayleyneeyore
October 28th, 2008, 17:40
I'm looking forward to walking about in our wedding clothes!
Wishes is usually on at 10pm in August, so I was counting on that being the same :) We aren't having a DJ (as of now, unless we have at least 25 people) so there won't really be any dancing. I wonder if we'll be OK with 3 hours for the reception? My idea was Ceremony 4-5, Pre-Recp 5-6, Reception 6-9, then Wishes Cruise 9.30-10.30 (then we'd all probably end up in Mizner's Lounge!) - I'm wondering now though whether 3 hours is enough for a reception?
If we have more people and decide on a DJ, then I might drop the ceremony down to around 2pm so we have time for dancing :)
Your advice is very helpful!
joanne
October 28th, 2008, 17:48
If you're not having a DJ then 3 hrs might be enough
Dinner probably takes around 1.5-2 hours from what I remember, including speeches. Then allow 1/2 hour for character(s).
Kate2005
October 28th, 2008, 17:49
Forgot to say, its lovely having that 3rd week all to yourselves. We had 1 wk at Disney, dh's family were in the same hotel as us, then when they went home (can you believe they only stayed for 1 wk?!) we moved to ID where my family were although we did stay at a different hotel, and then they went home and we had that 3rd week on our own, it was lovely!
hayleyneeyore
October 29th, 2008, 10:51
I'm really looking forward to my family coming to Orlando! Showing my mum and dad around is one of things I'm looking forward to most! I think DF's mum and dad are going to Disney for a week, and then going down to the Keys for a week. Mine are going to stay with us I think! They've never been to the US before, and I think they're going to love it! My dad loves big rides and rollercoasters, and my mum loved the parades, 'kiddy' rides and fireworks at DLRP so I think it's a good balance - between them, they will love it! :hyper:
We are definitely getting a character I think - it's going to be Donald Duck  I have no say in this matter - DF loves the Duck. If we were to get 2, they'd be Mickey and Donald.

Oh wow........ I can't believe I just read through all the posts and forgotten what I was going to say!! argh...lol..
Love the candy bar idea!!!
There's so much to take in.. I dunno how you can plan all this and do uni stuff to. Amazing!!!!!
Are you inviting any of your friends? like I find this very hard thing, I mean, I have a few close friends, I mean, I know it's soon for me to think, but I can't even imagine who's going to be my bridesmaid, it's so difficult!!
Also, did you ever consider having a larger reception when you come back to Wales for people who couldn't come to Disney? or is that just too costly?
hayleyneeyore
October 31st, 2008, 11:35
 I do some on some evenings and some weekends - work is crazy busy at the moment and I just want to collapse when I get home sometimes!
I am inviting some of my friends :) We have a few that have said yes already. Do you get taught by Lois in Equity and Trusts? She is going to be my maid of honour I think, she's one of my best mates
My parents have offered to pay for a reception when we get back, which is really kind of them, but I'm not sure. Disney minimums for 2010 have just gone up apparently from a $10K minimum to a $12K minimum, so we might need the help there instead. I really wanted an at-home reception to begin with, but now I'm not too bothered. If finances work out and we're able to have one - great!
OT: How is the new course going?!
ElinJ1987
October 31st, 2008, 17:12
Yeah, funnily enough, I was going to mention Lois to you, but I wasn't sure to. She's very nice. Someone was being quite rude in one of my tutorials and she handled it well! You teach one of my friends and she said you were nice too lol.
Really enjoying the course. Far more intense though than criminology!
Wow, bit of an increase! Are you going out to disney before the wedding at all? to look around, or will it all be sorted by planners etc?
have you spoken to any planners yet? or how do you go about doing that?

Hey Hayley
Congratualtions im so excited for you.
I also wanted to say thank you. We are just back a couple of weeks (we stayed at the Sheraton) and your help and tips you gave me were brilliant
We had a fantastic two weeks and are looking at prices to go back next year.
Also Mark proposed on my birthday at Islands of Adventure so that was great
Hope all your planning goes well, and thanks again, you were right, the Sheraton was brilliant

Nat - Congratulations! That's awesome! and I'm so glad you had a fab time and loved the Sheraton! Looks like you've got bitten by the Florida bug!!
Elin - Glad it's going well for you! The first year is intense, but I think the 2nd year subjects are a lot more interesting!
I'm not sure if we'll go for a planning visit before the wedding. I did want to originally, but then again we're thinking that money could be better spent on the wedding, so I'm not sure we will. We've seen the Wedding Pavilion, inside and out in 2007, so we're pretty firm on that!
I think I'm going to call up Disney to start things when I'm 18months out from my date, then plan with them over the phone or by e-mail. I get to start booking stuff when I'm 12months out from my date (which at the moment I get to start booking on 12 August 2009 - but it definitely will be in August) - I have to pay a $2000 deposit right then to secure my date. I think this used to be less, but it's just gone up - or will be going up for 2010 weddings. I think by then we will have that saved, so we're good.
Hopefully at the end of this month, we can make our Save the Dates and send them out to everyone. We're also working on a wedding website for our guests which will have all the information on it :) It's looking pretty cool! Hopefully that will go up in the next few days :)

 I haven't really thought more about it to be honest! I've been doing some work on our website, which isn't up yet and I really need to finish designing those Save The Dates and get them out!
I think we've decided though, to go with the Whitehall Room at the GF rather than the Napa Room at CR. From 2010 there won't be a distinction between prices in GF from the rest of the locations, so we might as well utilise the GF!!

I think I'm almost done with my Save the Dates! I've been lain up with a bad back all weekend, so finally got a chance to do some wedding stuff instead of running around like a mad person (we have exams on at the moment, so I've been working through lunch hours, etc. to get everything sorted for the students)
DF is going to print out a tester for me later on, so I can put it together and see how it works out. I'll post up when I have a photo! Hopefully we can get them out at the end of the month. I want to include our wedding website info too, so we'll need to host that before we can send them out.

OK, a few developments!! On the encouragement of Joanne (and TimonandPumba!) I called up Disney yesterday and spoke to a very nice girl and gave her my details and a few bits of information like where I wanted our wedding, etc. She said someone would call me back within 1-2 business days to discuss things with me.
I just got a call now from Diane, who I think is going to be our wedding consultant and who sounded lovely on the phone! She is going to e-mail me over some information now so Els and I can look through some menus, options and guideprices, etc...

I ordered the Wedding DVD about three times, but it never came! The girl I spoke to first on the phone to give her my details asked if I had it, and she said she would send it to me. So, if it doesn't come, just call them and say you're interested, but you'd like more information and the DVD. I'll let you know if mine does finally come!
Our wedding consultant did e-mail me a sample of info though, so if you'd like me to e-mail it on to you so you and your DF can have a look, just PM me your e-mail address :) Have you got Facebook by the way?
And Congrats on more or less deciding on a Disney Wedding! I was worried at the beginning that I would miss a wedding around here, but the more I plan and think about it, the more I know a Disney wedding is what I want. Disney is amazing, and you know like I do that people get married in the same 5 or 6 venues around here - I want something completely different!

I'm not sure on officiants - we want a non-denominational ceremony, and I'd love to personalize it!
Right now I'm thinking of Rev. Jack Day - he's done quite a few weddings and getting good reviews! I'll probably order the Jack Pak and if I like it, I'll book him :)
Who are you getting and how far did you book out? I'll probably wait til August when we've tentatively got our date, but don't want him to get booked up. Then again, we're getting married on a Thursday so hopefully he won't be too busy!

I've seen one dress at a wedding fayre that I love, but haven't tried it on yet! Hoping to try it on later this month or next month! Hopefully it will look good on!
Have been browsing the internet and I love Maggie Sottero dresses  Gorgeous!

Maggie Sottero dresses are beeeautiful! A friend from another chat room is getting married in july, she is having a maggie dress and it is just so beautiful. I like the photos of the real brides on her website, much nicer than the models!

OK e-mailed you the info!
I really recommend you read Joanne's trip report about her and Jonathan's Wedding! It's fantastic and has lots of great photos  Found HERE (http://www.wdisneyw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50497)
I must have read it ten times already
Thanks very much, just checked it. I will certainly look at the report.. I was wondering, when exactly are you supposed to pick maid of honour/chief brides maid or whatever? I'm having difficulty in deciding.
Also, going a bit off track here but we've still not announced it (I told my mum because i just had to lol) but my ring is on the table in a box because we're going to announce it on holiday, i know it seems all set up n that but oh well lol... Paul's dad's down n he started snooping in the box lol but he's not said anything.
oh yeah..sorry for all the moidering but did you mention at all you had to put a deposit down yet?
hayleyneeyore
February 8th, 2009, 18:50
Ooh let me know when you announce it!
Nope, no deposit yet - you can't put a deposit down until 8 months out (unless your event is in a theme park), which is December 12th for us, so a long time to go! But you can tentatively book your date 12 months out so that's August 12th for us :)

Our Save the Dates!!
Finally! After such a long time designing them, we've spent most of the weekend printing, cutting, folding, perforating.... they took us absolutely ages, but I really like them. I started designing them before Christmas, and it's only now that we're doing them - they take about 30mins to cut, and put together each so it's taking ages! I was planning on making little magnets to put in as well, but in the end, I just wanted to get them out! **Just a note, they are done on card and not paper
The 'envelopes' looked like this before cutting them out:
http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/3029/img5145.jpg
The STDs, pre-cutting. There are 5 parts to each STD: Save the Date, Wedding Events, Wedding Day, Contact Info, and Preliminary RSVP (so we can get an idea of who's coming)

Perforating the 'tearaway' lines:

After folding the envelope, and sticking a little crystal on the Monogram:

Wow hayley there great! I couldn't quite imagine how it was going to look from the first photo, so the fact that there are lots of step by step photo's is really helpfull :D. Give your selves a pat on the back cos they really do look professional.
How sad am i? i was sitting here rather excited to see how you perforate an edge thinking its some big machine and its a tiny little blue thing
And im also wondering if all computer blokes own a paper slicing thingymajig  cos i can't think of a reason why id own one but the computer obsessed fiance does

I thought perforating would be a big machine too!! I asked Els if he had one in work but didn't. I went on E-bay and found that little tiny thing for £2 (inc. p&p) - It'll never work I thought for £2, but it's brilliant!! I'm going around the house perforating everything now
I'm glad they look professional, I was afraid they'd look like someone just did them on Word

A couple of updates!
Dress
Not sure where I last left it! I went for my first dress appointment last month, and now I'm pretty sure I found the one :love2: I'd seen it in a Wedding Fayre and wanted to try it on, and luckily I still loved it when it was on! So now it's a matter of losing a couple of pounds before I order it. However, the dress I tried was in light gold, and their other store have it in ivory, so I want to try the ivory on first, and I think I will order it in the ivory
STDs and Website
My Save the Dates have been sent out! Finally! I was so excited to see them finally go! Also our Wedding Website is up. I used Wedding Window to do it, and I was really impressed with it! The website info was on the Save the Dates, so we've had a couple of people go on there this morning, including one guestbook comment saying they are looking forward to our wedding, and one couple (&baby) RSVPing 'maybe' on our website, when we thought they would never come, and then a facebook message from my BFF saying she loved the STD and of course she was coming! So I think that's 14 Yes and 3 Maybes now. Maybe we'll be surprised at the turnout
At-Home Reception
We've also booked our at-home reception for 11th Sept at the Trearddur Bay Hotel on Anglesey.
Our wedding in Disney is going to be really elegant in a fairytales and flipflops way, so I want something a little different for our at-home reception.
Our venue is right by the sea, so this is where the beach theme came up first, but I don't want to do the whole seashells thing. I love the seaside, rather than the beach, the fair, the candy floss and seafood, rock, etc... and we always used to go to Blackpool when I was a child, or Rhyl for the day. I absolutely love Blackpool Pleasure Beach and find the old photos of when it first opened really interesting (1890s-1900s) so thus came the idea of a Victorian/Turn-of-the-Century Seaside theme
Colours for this theme would be Candy Pink, Sage Green, and White. These colours would also go with the chocolate brown of our disney wedding, in case we need to double up on any items. So tables would be be white tablecloth with candy pink overlay, and white tablecloth with sage green overlay - alternating.
I think we'll have 10 tables, so for centrepieces, I'm thinking we could have jars/vases filled with 2x Gumball, 2x Popcorn, 2x Rock, 2x Candy Floss, and 2xToffee Apples. These jars would then either be topped with pink or green carnations (different colour to the tablecloth). Chair covers would be white, with pink/green sash. Not sure if the sweets would be too much though, or we should just use seashells/sand in the jars.
For placecards, I've seen these little white deckchairs that I love, and the placecards would be old ride tickets. For tablenames, we could name them after the old rides at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, most of which are still there: E.g. Big Dipper, Velvet Coaster, River Caves, Grand National, Ferris Wheel... the top table would have to be Noah's Ark, my fave ride :D
Hopefully I can convince our venue to make me a seaside inspired buffet menu - we weren't going full on buffet anyway, just a finger buffet. Hopefully we can get them to make mini battered fish in newspaper cones, (which isn't on the normal menu). Then, chips with salt and vinegar; mussels; mini hot dogs with fried onions (not on the menu); 'picnic' sandwiches; and a couple other bits.
For our favours, I was thinking we'd have a candy buffet - we could even move the centrepieces there  Along with things like lollipops, bon bons, marshmallows, etc... I've also seen somewhere that does personalised sticks of rock :D
An idea I've had for the guestbook is to make up a photobook on Snapfish or somewhere like that, of photos of us as kids at the seaside, or the fair.
Now bear in mind that I have no idea how to do an inspiration board, I just stuck loads of photos together in Photoshop:
http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/2445/inspboard.jpg
I can see me going way overboard with this theme! I would love to get a photobooth, etc.. but I think that would be going way out of our budget!!
If anyone has any more ideas, I would love to hear them!!
Officiant
I think we are pretty much decided on Rev Jack Day as our officiant. He's sent me his pack, and all I need to do now is send the form back to him.

Now i'm craving strawberry bonbons! Sounds really great Hayley. I've seen pics from a themed vow renewal inside the great movie ride. When they got to the Wizard of Oz part they had sweets and things in the centrepieces and sugar ruby slippers. If I ever have a vow renewal, i'm so having a theme! :D

Right, haven't got too much to be updating about really!! We can't book the date until August this year, so I didn't want to book anything before that was confirmed, which was a challenge as you know I completely overplan way in advance!
As you may know, we are off to Orlando on Sunday :D I can't believe it!
We're booked to see our Wedding Consultant for a Site Visit at 1pm on June 22nd - can't wait! There is a wedding at 2.30pm at the Pavilion and they have rented the Coach!! So I will get to see it in person (I requested this if it was possible). The only thing I am slightly worried about is that it will spoil it a bit on our wedding day. Jo, what do you think? Did you see it beforehand?
We have asked to see Whitehall Room, Napa Room and Living Seas. I also wanted to see the Attic but DF isn't keen on the decor and you cannot move the furniture in there.
I think we have settled on our honeymoon plans/dates:
Aug 8 - 16: 8 Nights at Disney's Wilderness Lodge (I'm staying night before wedding at GF)
Aug 16 - 22: 6 Nights at Sheraton Four Points Orlando in a King Suite
Aug 22 - 26: 4 Night Bahamian Cruise on Disney Wonder (Room 7120!)
Aug 26 - 30: 4 Nights at Disney Hotel (Either Poly or AKL depending on $)
We will hopefully be booking the DCL Cruise at the end of this month, and last time I checked a week ago, room 7120 was still available. This was the verandah room we had last year. We'll also probably be booking the Sheraton on I Drive as I am told by Sheraton that they don't require a deposit or the full amount, just a CC number.
DCL and the Disney Hotel will be our unofficial honeymoon when everyone else has gone home. I'll probably book WL after we get our room block and the wedding discount. I might wait to book Poly/AKL until free dining is released in the US - but I'm not sure yet (I might wait with WL also). Or we might just get the tables in wonderland card or something - I need to figure out what would be best for us. I'd like to stay Concierge at the Poly/AKL - we loved Poly Concierge and it's spoiled us!!
Outside Vendors - Nothing booked yet, but as soon as I get the green light that our date is being held, then I will book all these. I've been in contact with them all and so far, everyone is free for August 12:
Officiant: Rev Jack Day
Photography: Misty Miotto
Videography: STVS
Cosmetology: Patricia LeJeune
I'm looking forward to booking SOMETHING!! We'll be booking the flights when Virgin Atlantic release them - around Sept/Oct.
I haven't looked more at dresses yet, although I do have one in mind as 'my dress' and 99% likely that's the one I'm going to get... but I'm afraid I'm not posting it up! :tongue:I'm not going to order right now, however much I'm dying to, as I'm trying to lose weight!! So far, I've lost 10.5lbs in the past month and I'm really pleased with it! I only hope I don't undo all my hard work in Orlando!!
Well, that was a longer update than I expected!! The next one will have photos of my Site Visit!

Thanks guys! Everything is falling into place - I'm so excited, but I'm just itching to book something. The 12 month rule sucks!
Thanks Jo :) That's exactly what I hoped to hear! I'd asked her to try and coincide the visit with the Coach so that I could see it in person, I can't wait! The only danger now is that I'll try and hijack the Coach  Plus I'm looking forward to actually going into Franck's since past 2 trips I've been peering in through the window!
It's actually happening! I'm mostly surprised at how our parents, family and friends are looking forward to it. We decided when we wanted a Disney wedding that we were completely OK with it being my parents, Els' parents and Els' brother and GF - we had to be, otherwise it would have been an at home wedding! We've had 15 or so definites so far (includes us) and around 6-7 maybes - so either way a nice number! Most will be in the wedding party, but I don't mind... we're getting married at Disney!! :hyper:

Hi Kate, nope, photographer not through Disney! I just like the style of the outside photogs and videogs better. I think most brides go outside for their photography, etc...
Outside photographers and videographers are not allowed at park weddings, unfortunately - a new rule they just enacted last year.
Mandy - Always a vow renewal option!!

A week today our wedding will hopefully be held/reserved!! :hyper:
We'll be away camping then, so hopefully it'll go off without a hitch and I'll be able to pay some proper attention to my Planning Journal! It might be helpful to actually book some things as I keep changing my mind a thousand times!
Here is where we're up to so far! (Grab a cuppa and some biscuits!)
Our colours are: Chocolate, Latte, Rose/Blush Pink, Gold/Champagne and Ivory  I just couldn't pick 3 and I think all 5 go well together... it's just different shades of cream/brown and a bit of pink.
We've changed our date to August 11th 2010, so just pushed it a day forward - which means we also get to book a day sooner  Due to our locations and weather in August, we've decided to now go for a 10am Ceremony at the Wedding Pavilion. I'm not sure how early I'm going to have to get up yet! We are getting the Coach (:hyper:), but I'm not sure of guest transport or groom's yet. I'll be staying the night before at the GF, hopefully with my bridesmaids having a girly night. I'm planning to make up bags for them, in addition to welcome bags, with things like PJs, dressing gown, chocs, etc... all the good ingredients for a girly night and the robes would be handy in the morning. I've chosen my 2 best friends to be my BMs - I just couldn't choose one of them to be my MOH! - and I asked them with these cards:
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/5488/12072009102.jpg
http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/9176/12072009104.jpg
(Sorry about the quality! They were taken with my phone!)
The poem reads:
The time has come for Elfyn and I to join our lives as one
We look forward to our wedding day filled with family, friends and fun!
To make that day more special and create memories that will last
There is one favour from you, my friend, that I would like to ask.
Will you be my Bridesmaid?I want to make something similar for the Best Man, just need the supplies!
I've also bought the dresses that they'll be wearing :D But they haven't tried them on yet:
http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/6748/20081031008010832920.jpg
I have 3 of them as I got a pretty good deal on them. They're by Debut at Debenhams and they are really lovely in person - I think they'll be perfect in the August heat!! They come sort of mid-calf. I'm not sure whether to give them little tiaras or not. Probably not.
My Dress - I haven't ordered it yet, but I think I've found the one :) I've tried it on 3 times now and I love it more each time. I've tried it on once in light gold and twice in ivory and hopefully I'll be ordering it in the ivory! I'll be getting a huge petticoat under it and I just love it! I'm not sure whether to post it or not, or to keep it a surprise, but I will say it's by Maggie Sottero! I'll probably be getting a veil, but really not sure about a tiara - I'm not sure they suit me!
Els' Suit & Groomsmen - we've ordered these from Greenwoods/1860, but haven't chosen the waistcoat/tie yet as they're getting new ones in Sept. I think Els will have an ivory waistcoat and tie, with the groomsmen getting an ivory waistcoat with either a pink/brown/gold tie. He wanted the black tails and trousers to begin with, but after trying both on, he went with the black tails and traditional pinstripe trousers.
http://divine-bride.co.uk/ESW/Images/tailcoat_black.jpg
They did have a Welsh national kilt which I couldn't get him into for love nor money
Rings - Els has decided he wants a 6mm Palladium band, but we are waiting until Jan to get them as it's not a legal requirement to stamp palladium at the moment in the UK, so want that legislation to come through!
What he wants:
http://www.goldsmiths.co.uk/content/full/13969.jpg
I tried on this one, which I loved, but it's a bit more than I wanted to spend on a ring. I might have to think about it though, as it's something I'll wear forever:
http://www.goldsmiths.co.uk/content/full/3437.jpg
I was going to get this one from Blue Nile, where my e-ring is from:
http://img.bluenile.co.uk/is/image/bluenile/AB49400100_main?$main$
Hair & Make-Up will hopefully be done by Patricia LeJeune (http://www.lejeune-pca.com/), when I book her at the end of next week. I'm not sure whether to get my BMs done - both usually wear their hair down when they go out and they can do it really beautifully curly or straight as they both have long blonde hair. If I decide on a particular updo or something, then I would pay for that. I'd love their hair down though.
Photography will be done by Misty Miotto (http://www.lejeune-pca.com/). I'll also be booking her next week, but we still haven't decided what package we want - 8hrs, 10hrs or 12hrs. 8hrs would be enough to cover the day, and we'd need a couple of hours in the evening for the dessert party. However I would like the 10hrs so we have enough time to capture everything in the day - but then we might as well go for the 12hrs! Argh - decisions! Ultimately, budget will probably decide for us. I am still hung up on The Roots (http://rootphotography.blogspot.com/), but they are way, way out of my budget. I've tried to shoehorn them in many times, but they are double what Misty wants.
Videography has been a bone of contention and I think will be done by One i Productions (http://oneiproductions.webs.com/apps/videos/). I'm just awaiting their full length sample DVD. Researching videographers, I found I was much more drawn to the cinematography styles but it can be really expensive. One i worked to my budget and now I have what I think is a fantastic deal with 8hrs of video in the daytime, 2hrs for the party at night, and 2 videographers. I love the girl I am working with and am really confident they'll come up with something I love. I don't think they've done a Disney wedding either - this sort of draws me in a sense as I'm really interested to see what they'll come up with! I want to see the sample just to be 100% that it's what we're looking for. Some others that I looked at and loved, but were just too expensive are First Sight Pictures (http://www.firstsightpictures.com/new/trailers/page2/2.html) and Simply Cinematic (http://www.simplycinematic.com/blog/?p=1438). I'm hoping to get something similar as an end result.
Okay, for bridal floral I love this bouquet:
http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/8307/of50590363uw6.jpg
For BMs, I'm really not sure - I'm thinking either a rose wand, or a small rose bouquet (like a toss bouquet). I think that'd be okay for the amount of time they'll be holding them anyway. Not sure about the colours yet - my flowers are pink, but their dresses are light gold/champagne.
http://img523.imageshack.us/img523/8090/rosewandstiggsey6.jpg
http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/8515/wandft0.jpg
I think I'd want a smaller 'stick' and at least 3 roses though... hmm.
I still want the WP to be decorated something similar to this:
http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/8332/wpdecorwq0.jpg
But not the flowers and podiums, just the aisle runner and petals, and maybe the swagging. I'll be bringing the aisle runner myself, but not sure whether it would be easier to just get the petals from Disney.
This is the one I really love, but it's a couture wedding and I bet it would be $$$ anyway!
http://img399.imageshack.us/img399/1074/wpzo0.jpg
Our officiant will be Rev Jack Day (http://www.revjackday.com/). I just have a good feeling about him and he seems really nice in his emails.
Ceremony and Readings - I think I'll cry at the ceremony - thinking about saying the words makes me want to cry  But knowing me, I'll get the giggles. I do have a rough copy of the ceremony I want to use, but it's at home, so I'll post it up at a later date. I wasn't sure whether to do readings or not, as DF isn't really keen (probably having sat through one too many at other people's weddings!) but it's different when it's your own. However I love this one by Pam Ayres and fits us really well!
He never leaves the seat up
Or wet towels upon the floor
The toothpaste has the lid on
And he always shuts the door!
She’s very clean and tidy
Though she may sometimes delude
Leave your things out at your peril
In a second they’ll have moved!
He’s a very active person
As are all his next of kin
Where as she likes lazy days
He’ll still drag her to the gym!
He romances her and dines her
Home cooked dinners and the like
He even knows her favourite food
And spoils her day and night!
She’s thoughtful when he looks at her
A smile upon his face
Will he look that good in 50 years
When his dentures aren’t in place?!
He says he loves her figure
And her mental prowess too
But when gravity takes her over
Will she charm with her IQ?
She says she loves his kindness
And his patience is a must
And of course she thinks he’s handsome
Which in her eyes is a plus!
They’re both not wholly perfect
But who are we to judge
He can be pig headed
Where as she won’t even budge!
All that said and done
They love the time they spent together
And I hope as I’m sure you do
That this fine day will last forever.
He’ll be more than just her husband
He’ll also be her friend
And she’ll be more than just his wife
She’s be his soul mate ‘till the end.Music I haven't really decided on yet. I think mine will have to be Wish Upon a Star - but I'm not sure whether it'll be the instrumental or the Linda Ronstadt version. DF wants the Pinocchio original, but I don't think the recordings of it are good enough quality  I want the recessional to be something fun, like 'Wouldn't It Be Nice' by the Beach Boys :D As you can tell, I'm not very traditional!
Transport to the Pre-Reception will be by Monorail! I am so excited about this! I think it'll make for great photos! Our Pre-Reception is in the Sonoma Room, which is in the California Grill in the Contemporary Resort. We loved this room on our site visit as it has floor to ceiling windows and looks out over Bay Lake and Orlando.
http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs104.snc1/4771_90821289660_508819660_1828592_254089_n.jpg

Not sure what we are going to do for pre-reception food yet, but I'm hoping that they'll let us have Lilikoi Juice as one of the drinks! I'd love to do a menu like this:
http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/9378/47b6cc26b3127cce8fadef4xr0.jpg
Old: Water; New: Pink Lemonade, Borrowed: Lilikoi Juice, Blue: ?
It'll be early, so we don't want the bar open until our reception
Our reception will be next door in the Napa Room (http://www.magicalkingdoms.com/ftw/photos/napa.html), which we also saw during our site visit. The view is amazing as it overlooks the Magic Kingdom. Photos don't show just how close the Castle is - I never realised the CR was so close! I'd want the Cake Table near the window though, so we'd be able to get the Castle in our cake photos! We'd also be getting chair covers, etc. to finish the room off. To be honest, I'm having trouble deciding on centrepieces, as I'm not really a big flower person and when I think of centrepieces I'm really thinking that we could use that money for something else! I love these however:
http://andreah.smugmug.com/photos/581602929_yU96L-L.jpg
I was thinking it'd be cool to put the glow blocks in them, but not sure if that would (a) be tacky, and (b) you could see them in the daytime. We could also use these on the altar at the WP and then reuse them for reception decor - along with a few candles maybe. I wonder if they'd have different height of this style of vase, as 3 vases of different heights would look nice on the table interspersed with rose petals and tealights. Now I'm thinking out loud - sorry!!
Cake will be something along these lines:
http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/7046/cakevi9.jpg
http://andreah.smugmug.com/photos/581607179_nXu8x-L.jpg
However I'm just not sure whether to do the 2-Tier - I love the 3-Tier look, but it's a lot of cake for 15 or so people!!
http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee266/ronnieronjon/DisneyCakes/HappilyEverAfter-Silver.jpg
http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/7231/5069ew0.jpg
DF loves the Mickey, but I love the 'Happily Ever After' one.
We've decided that 2-tiers will be Chocolate with Raspberry Filling, and Yellow with Milk Chocolate Filling. If we get a 3rd tier, it'll probably be Chocolate with Buttercream Filling... I love the buttercream
Food! The best bit  Because we're having a California Grill wedding, normal wedding menus are out - this is because they have their own banqueting menus. So, we've not really decided on Appetizer or Salad yet and we might even go to a 4-Course instead of the 5-Course we were planning as nothing really jumps out as a salad for us. One thing we're definitely having is:
http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/9190/slipperdd7.jpg
Entree will definitely be the Filet from the Cali Grill with BBQ Sauce. It was mine and DF's favourite meal from our 2008 trip.
http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/1557/img3678.jpg
http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/2719/img3677o.jpg
Dessert will be wedding cake (a slice of both layers) as we're having a DP afterwards and we might be having things like spring rolls for our pre-rep. PLUS we want to get rid of that thing!
Entertainment - We've decided we're probably not having a DJ. For one, our reception will end at 4pm since the room minimum is crazy high during 4pm and 6pm as you take up 2 food services. Second, we'll probably have 15-20 people max, maybe less. DJ would probably be pointless, even if he can jump in with apt songs at the apt time! We'll probably wire up an iPod to the room's sound system and dance to that if need be. I'm not sure if we'll get a violinist or whether we'll even need one, or get Major Domo to do the introducing and announcements. Our first dance, cake cutting, and speeches will probably be before dinner unless we decide on the longer photo package. Oh, and there's also a certain someone invited:
http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb191/ecoon5/donald.jpg
Els loves the Duck and we couldn't not have him. I'd have WallE tomorrow if I could.
Music - No idea what our entrance song will be. Something fun, but I also like Ever Ever After.
Cake Cutting - again, no idea.
First dance - So Close by Jon McLaughlin (I also love You and Me by Lifehouse so that will feature somewhere!).
Entry of Ice Slippers - has to be Be Our Guest.
Entry of Donald - no idea! ideas on a postcard. I have a recording of Just Like We Dreamed It from the DLRP parade that I always imagined the characters coming into for some reason.
Last Dance - Time of My Life - Dirty Dancing (Cliche I know, but it's my favourite movie!)
Reception will end at 4pm. I'm not sure what to do here. I thought about renting out the Grand 1 for an hour for a tour of the lake and opening a couple of bottles of Cuvee. Or taking over Mizner's Lounge/somewhere at the CR for an hour or so and putting some $$ behind the bar. If we have extra photography, we'd like some more pics taken with our guests at this point. There'll be an opportunity for everyone to rest before the evening as it'll be a long day!
Dessert Party will be at Sago Cay Point, which is in the Grand Floridian Marina, to watch Wishes. We will be piping the Wishes music in.
http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs104.snc1/4771_90821209660_508819660_1828578_1384702_n.jpg

http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/4913/62334.jpg
http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/1869/rehearsaldinner21.jpg
I'm not too sure of our menu yet, since I want to combine the menus we have to make one where we like everything in it
Milk and Dark Chocolate Fondue with Items to Dip, including:
Chocolate Truffle Lollipops, Assorted Cheesecake Lollipops, Fresh Fruits and Berries, Marshmallows, and Pretzels
Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Mini Fruit Tarts and Mini Key Lime Tarts
Mini Tiramisu Martinis
International Cheeses
Poured to Order, by an Attendant:
Warm White Chocolate with Amaretto Shot garnished with Fresh Berries
Colada Chill: Rum-infused Pineapple Juice served over Frozen Coconut Cream, topped with a Spicy Fried Swizzle Stick
Coffees with Whipped Cream, Shaved Chocolate, Cinnamon Sticks,
Orange Peel, and Flavored Coffee SyrupsWell, that's what I'd like anyway!
After the DP, everyone can either head back or the party animals can head over to Jelly Rolls  We'll be staying in the GF another night I think, but I'm not too bothered if we cut it as we won't really have time to enjoy the resort anyway, we just need to put our head down somewhere!
WOW that was long! I'm really sorry, it just kept going! It's just easier if I get to put all my plans down on 'paper' and see everything coming together. I'll edit if I think of anything else!

Lovely to see you back Hayley - was beginning to think you'd flown to another planet!
Seriously though - your plans are wonderful. Your attention to detail is meticulous.
The entree made my so hungry and the cake sounds yummy.
I love the rings and the outfits - I cant see the bouquet - the pic is not up.
Did you just love Francks?

Oh gosh everything sounds amazing!!!! Your details will make this a memorable event. A 2 tierd cake will look just as spectacular but talk to catering and see what they can do if you are set on 3 tiers, either they can make all 3 tiers smaller or maybe they can make a fake 3rd tier on the bottom and the 2 cake tiers that you will catually cut on the top. BTW I love the centerpieces at the DP they are great.
It seems that your guests are in for a real treat! Congratulations!

Thanks everyone! I'm really excited that it's all coming together, but it's still a lot of work and I get nervous when I see other brides getting married around that timeframe more or less ready to go when we have a LOT of things to do.
The good news is that I've been trying to lose weight for the past 2.5 months, and today I hit the 1 stone mark (14lbs) so I'm really pleased with that!! I'd like to lose another 2 stone before the wedding, but we'll see how it goes!

They did have a Welsh national kilt which I couldn't get him into for love nor money
I think I'll cry at the ceremony - thinking about saying the words makes me want to cry  But knowing me, I'll get the giggles.
My husband and all his groomsmen wore kilts :scotty: but they loved it (well maybe my little brother thought it was odd but he doesn't really count lol) Though we have a lovely picture of them mooning the camera to prove they were being true Scotsmen. Joy.
I started to cry at my wedding I came down this long stair case (we were married outside) and when I get to the landing I see all the children I had taken care of since I moved to Mass were there walking arm and arm while pulling a little wagon with our friends son and the then youngest girl I nanny for. I instantly tear up then forget I was standing on a stair landing and walk off it. Luckily my dad had my arm and I caught myself on the banister. But after that I giggled and then I giggled through the whole thing including the kiss.:kisshand:Luckily everyone thought it was cute and very me as I am a big giggler and a big smiler.
I loved my wedding I had so much fun!!! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I did mine! (of course you will though it is in Disney!!! lol)

Oh god Hayley - it all sounds soooo incredible!!!! It really is going to be a fairytale wedding isnt it
I dont know what to say about everything else, its all just so beautiful! I love your choices of rings - my fingers are quite small so id have to have the thinner ring - but thats stunning aswell!
Love the flowers, love the cakes (my favourite is the Mickey one i think!), all of them would look just as lovely with 2 tiers instead of 3.
Couldnt see the photo of the flowers you want to have, so will have to wait for the real photos to see them!
Im soooo excited for you - can wait to see the pictures of it all, and im sure you'll document it perfectly for us!

Hey Hayley! Looks great on paper! Even better in person I'm imagining!
What time will your reception (pre-reception) start? When you're done at 4 with dinner I'd suggest letting your guests do their own thing for a bit and giving you and Els some time to be on your own before the DP. It will make an extremely exhuasting day if you try to be on the go from 6am-12am!

I can't believe I didn't post this up!
WE GOT OUR DATE!!!
I am sooo excited! We are getting married on 11th August 2010 at 10am in the morning. Cocktail Hour will be 11-12 at the Sonoma Room in Cali Grill, and the Reception will be 12-4 at the Napa Room in Cali Grill. We are also holding Sago Cay Point in the GF Marina for our Wishes Fireworks Party 9-11pm. We'll be signing our contract at the start of next month and I just can't wait!
I've booked the Magic Kingdom Photoshoot for Friday 13th August 2010 at 5am (I really couldn't decided between the 5am and 6am with lighting) and I'm really tempted to add on an Epcot photoshoot afterwards, but not too sure.
The COACH is booked for us :hyper:
I've booked our photographer, Misty Miotto who is just lovely. We'll have her for 12hrs, so enough to cover the whole day which is really important to me!
I've booked our cosmetologist, Patricia LeJeune - well, contract went in the post this morning.
And our officiant, Rev Jack Day has also been booked - Jack Pak in the post this morning :)
Just need to decide on our videographer now! We got a bit done in a short space of time after we found out we got the date. I need to book Carolyn Allen to come and steam the dress, but not sure if I should do this now or later.
I'm just over 11months out now! Argh!

I'm really excited now!! I just can't wait to go!
I can't believe we've been engaged over a year already - it's flown by, so hopefully the wedding day will be here before we know it!
I also finally decided on the videographer, Seth Cohen, whom we booked this morning  He seems really lovely in his e-mails, and I love the slightly cinematic feel to his work.
We're also less than a year out from our DCL Honeymoon Cruise :hyper: It makes me excited to think that instead of being announced as Hayley & Elfyn, we'll be Mr & Mrs :D

Oooh I haven't updated in ages!
I thought I'd mentioned it, but we've booked our videographer - we really wanted a quite cinematic feel for our video, and we weren't really too sure on the one we'd chosen at first (no reviews, took 2 months to send a sample DVD, etc.) so we decided not to go for them. We've booked Video Effects by Seth, and Seth is absolutely lovely and we have such a great deal. We're having a 10hr package in the day time, then he's coming back for 2hrs in the night for our DP. We're having a 'through the years' montage, which he'll also put on a DVD for us to show at the Napa Room, and he's doing stuff like guest interviews. Nothing is too much trouble :)
I still need to book Carolyn Allen, but I won't until after my dress is bought. Hopefully that will be bought next month sometime. I've been hanging on to be 100% that it's the one and so that I can lose a bit of weight. I've lost 25lbs to date, and I hope to lose 17lbs more before the wedding. I feel tons better in myself already. I'm sure my dress is 'the one' as I haven't bothered looking for anything else since I tried it on back in March. I feel like it's 'my dress'.
Biggest news, we have our contract!! :D I got it via e-mail last night, so just going through it now with a fine tooth comb (it's the contract lawyer in me!) - couple of tiny changes, needs to be signed, then sent off with our deposit! I can't wait to see who our planner will be, but I'll really miss Diane who's been fab. I want to get her something, but not sure what yet.
Hoping to book our flights at the end of the month. We've held on quite a bit in order for our families to be ready so we can all book together. We're itching to book now and just hope we can all get seats together.

Thanks! I can't believe I've lost that much - I've not really had the willpower in the past when I've tried to diet, but I guess when you've got a goal to work for it's easier! I'm doing it on Weight Watchers and I really like the program
I think there'll be about 20 people all in all coming with us - we've had 16 definites, 4 probablys, and 9 maybes. Hopefully we'll end up with around 20 and I think that's a nice number

Thank you! I had my latest weigh-in this morning and I lost another 3lbs, which means now I've lost a total of 2st (28lbs) - I want to lose 14lbs which will bring me to my goal weight. I can't believe I was 2st heavier - jeez! Hopefully we will go order my dress soon - I wanted to lose 2st before ordering it and I think we'll be ordering it in the next month as it takes a while to make/come in (4-6months)
We faxed our contract and deposit yesterday, so both have been received! Hopefully the payment will be processed without a glitch and will speed things up! Knowing our luck our card won't be accepted or something and we'll have to pay the bank for a bank cheque/transfer, whatever it's called!
But this means that - everything going according to plan - our Disney wedding website will soon be up (we've already seen a draft), our Save the Dates will be sent to our guests from DFTW, and we'll get our wedding planner! I'm so excited to find out who it'll be!! :hehe:

Hey Chicken
Firstly CONGRATS on the amazing weightloss!!!!!
I went to a week before still determined to drop thise last 2lb's to get to my goal weight (which I did through stress alaone I think lol) and then as soon as the wedding was done I relaxed and put it back on lol
Just to let you know one thing I was disapointed with about the wedding website with disney is that your wedding photos wont be put on there.
I told all of my family at home they will be able to see them before we got home, when I noticed they hadnt gone on I emailed Tanis (my co-ordinator) and she explained that ONLY US citizens get their photos ont he website :(

They've taken the deposit - phew! I guess the ball's rolling now then! In a week or so we should be getting the call from our planner! I am really excited for this!! Then we'll be able to start choosing stuff we want for real :D
Thanks Tricia! It's an amazing feeling to be this much lighter - I can't believe I was ever that heavier! That's not fair about your photos not being on the website! We don't have a Disney photographer for the wedding, but I was expecting our MK Shoot pics to be up there... ahh well :(

I really recommend Weight Watchers - I find it really easy to follow and I think it helps that nothing is 'forbidden', it's up to you what you spend your points on. I also stay for the meetings and our leader is really lovely and supportive so that helps!
If I can do it, anyone can  Go for it!

Hey Stranger! Hows the weight watchers going? I'm on erm... slimming world. I think. Red day Green Day? I dunno. I'm down to 13st 4. On May 1st 2008 I weighed almost 15 stone. Feels awesome doesnt it?
Did you book your flights yet?
Hows the dissertation going?

Hey dude! That's awesome - well done you! I'll have to take a peek at your pics, I did see the Devon ones really quickly, hope you had a good time! I just don't understand the red day green day thing, but I'm doing OK with Weight Watchers! Next weigh in is tomorrow, so cross fingers. I've lost 2st so far so I'd like to lose another stone to get to my goal weight. Ordering the dress is the next step!
Flights *still* not booked - we won't get there at this rate! Hopefully the first half of this month. We want our close families to book together to make sure we get seats together so we're still waiting on a couple of people.
Thesis... meh, it's OK. I have a LOT of writing to do so not really getting much done in the way of wedding planning - which I suppose I can't complain about since the PhD is the most important! Just have to get on with it!

I put those pics on without even touching a computer :) Lou was off and didnt want them on her facebook page, as the security settings stop her ex's family from seeing them if I load them up. Devon was a right laugh, we'll probably try to go again next easter.
I guess your wedding planning is half done now you've booked everything, and once you've finished the dissertation you can go back to planning! Woop woop!!

Easier said than done  I'm hoping to finish thesis by next Sept, but most people take an extra year to write up - I really hope I can finish before the wedding or else I'll be thinking about it all through the honeymoon!
Wedding planning has just begun  I have a ton of things to do and no time to do them in. I had a huge list of things to do last month and I didn't check any of them off apart from return our contract and pay our deposit! Yikes! Weekends I just want to crash after working all week, but I gotta start doing some wedding stuff!
I got an email from our Wedding Coordinator yesterday, saying she's passed everything on to the planning team and we should be getting a call from our Wedding Planner in the next week!! I am so excited to find out who it is!
I need to update our newsletters and send them out ASAP! I've been dragging my feet in printing them out.

(I'm not going to read the whole 20 pages of posts)
Here's my two cents:
$.01, the wedding is for the woman, the wedding night is for the man. Don't forget that little fact. As excited as you are about the wedding, he is more excited about the wedding night.
$.02, you must stay at GF that first night together (because I'm sure you've both been saving yourselves... ahem). Order GF breakfast room service the next morning.

We have a wedding planner! I just got an e-mail about 30mins ago :)
It's Ken Weaver - I'm very excited to start working with him and Jen, his assistant. It's beginning to feel quite real now

Glad it's all coming together.
We were thinking about you last month as we walked past the Wedding Pavillion.

I excited for you!!! I'm hoping that DD's fiance (when she meets him) goes along with her plans for a Disney wedding! Who knows, if I meet Mr Right I'll have a magical wedding myself lol.
