Wedding Cakes.

I thought I'd better ask my cake question here instead of ruining Hayley's planning by banging on about wedding cakes..

I was wondering, do Disney give you a selection of wedding cakes to chose from? or can you bring your own in from another place? or will they allow you to bring in your own designs etc?

Only because if we do end up getting married there,(We both really want to) I don't want to be restricted to a set of cakes...I dunno why but the cake will be a big thing of me, since I've started my new hobby of cake decorating lol and I've just always wanted a spectacular cake!

They won't let you bring in any outside food, cakes included. But they have loads of designs you can choose from, or they can design a whole new one for you :clap: Whether it's changing one of their existing designs slightly or producing a brand new design from your wishes, they can do it - for a cost! :hehe:

Wedding cakes can be expensive from what I've seen. It's as expensive as you want to make it - obviously the larger and more elaborate they are, the more expensive they are.

I could be wrong, but I think the 3 Tier Mad Hatter Cake, customised to your colours runs close to $1000.

Disney cakes are priced per guest. Cakes have minimum guests they start from, so the bigger cakes might start at a minimum of, say, 50 guests. Haven't got a price list to hand, but from memory they used to run from around $8-9 per guest upwards (plus tax & gratuity).
If you want to add a topper, such as the castle topper, you're looking at an extra $100+

Lol, Oh my goodness... I'm thinking mine would definitely be very expensive then!! I originally wanted like a 8 tier cake.. I mean I'm only dreaming..it would be a whole lotta cake going to waste if that was the case lol..

I do like the mad hatter one though, it is unique.

I know yeah! but it would be amazing.. I originally wanted to like possibly collaborate with another cake decorator so it would come down in price lol, but obviously you cant do that with disney

I am having two cakes, one for the wedding and one for when we get homeI am thinking I might see if I can take my cake topper from my cake here and use it there.

Yeah, well we both want to, definitely, but I doubt I'll be able to afford it, what with this law course now. So plans are definitely being held back lol :(.. I really hope so though, I'd just like a rough estimate how how much it would cost, with lets say 20 guests or so..

the wedding cake is a significant part of the whole ceremony with the symbolic slicing and all.... this might probably convince you to have the Disney wedding cake still as it would complete the whole Disney and fairytale atmosphere... :blush:
