Just read this on the Virgin site:
Total dimensions (length plus breadth plus height) of each item of luggage is not to exceed 158cms. For all individual pieces exceeding 23kg, excess baggage charges will apply.
Thought i'd just check mine as they are new but dont look any different from the hard cases we took to spain last year. They're framless extra large ones that kind of go a bit smaller in the middle (just part of the design I think, no real reason for this!) and at the smallest part the total is 150cm but at the widest its about 160cm!
Do you think ill be ok???:confused::confused:

Shouldn't be a problem as they don't measure to the exact centimetre. The main thing to be aware of with big cases is that it is easy to get close to or over the new weight limits which could cause problems. We have soft bags we use to travel to the US but the biggest of these is now a problem as we would have been over the limit according to the new weights. Several places sell the portable luggage scales so if you have large bags might be worth investing in one of these for £20 rather than have to repack or pay excess at the airport.

thank you for that, I had a little panic!
I agree with you on the weight side of things, def going to take some sort of scales with us. I did want to get hard cases but they were just so heavy (& expensive!) that it wasn't worth it.
