View Full Version : Transport from the Airport?

Wonder if anyone can help?!
I booked my whole holiday from Virgin Holidays and declined the hire car. There was no mention of Magical express so I just assumed there will be a standard Virgin coach to transport us to the POR. Have I assumed correctly?!?! :hehe:

I'm pretty sure there isn't. Unless you have paid for something, you won't get it from Virgin. However you should be able to use the Magical Express as you are staying on a Disney property.

i'm pretty sure Virgin don't do their own transport, but you can add magical express to your booking for no charge

Glad I asked now I would have looked very silly! :wacko:
How do I go about adding this to my booking or would I have to do this through Disney directly?

We are going with VH but booked it through TC and they have arranged it for us but I am sure you can do it yourself try the following.

Yes VH do offer free transfers when you do not take car option - as long as you tell them it's what you want. There will be a voucher in your ticket pack and the service is operated by Mears. When you clear immigration and collect your luggage for the second time a VH rep will direct you to the specific bus stop right outside which will take you to your resort. I have used this 4 times and it works very well. You may go direct to your resort or make a couple of stops to drop off other passengers from your flight( good way of having a peek at other resorts :))

You will be told what time you will be collected from your resort for the return flight. You have the option to have done DTD check-in and just hop on or take your luggage and check in when you get to MCO.

Last year it was actually the Magical Express that did our return journey.

Just done a 'fake' booking on the virgin holidays website and there is an option to use their free transfer to & from the hotel if you dont want a hire car. It's not on our invoice & to be honest its been soooooo long since I booked I had forgotten!

If you can get Disney Express and you should do if you are staying in a Disney hotel I would suggest to alternatives I have used for years and years.

I prefer to use Tiffany Town Cars on www.tiffanytowncars.com who are excellent. They charges about the same as a Airport cab and they meet you in the baggage claim area and also have uniformed drivers. Your car is a lovely black limo style town car.

If you want a return the same driver will pcik you up.

The alternative is to yours Mears Taxis. mears are a well known travel company in Orlando and their website www.mearstransportation.com even has a taxi calculator on it.

There's nothing on my 2009 invoice about transfers but sure there will be details in my ticket pack when it arrives as usual.

Don't worry, it wasn't on my invoice, but, when the tickets came through there was vouchers for the transfers to and from the hotels. We had a Mears coach from the airport to the PORS and coming back we were on the Magical Express, we've never had a problem with the transfers side.
