Starting to panic

I'm panicking about the snow affecting my journey up to Gatwick. I know that it is mainly motorway, but, we are so useless when even a little snow falls. Fingers crossed I'll do it. Times like this I'm glad I opt to go up the day before and stay overnight, I can drive up more carefully.

check accu weather for a really detailed weather report, not sure what your location is, but for the southwest sunday has snow showers but sat is rainy, so most of the stuff on the ground will have gone, just allow more time for the journey, i know flights from gatwick arent being affected, we go on tues so have a the same worry, but i dont think it will be too bad, all the more main roads are very clear ... have a GREAT trip, youll be laughing at how ou were worrying when you arrive!! :):):)

OMG, the two Severn bridges were closed today because large sheets of ice fell off the girders smashing car windscreens. I've never heard that happen before. Don't worry chaps, nothing is going to keep me away from the Magic!

Are they opened again yet? If not can you still get to Gatwick?

I think one is. I can still get to Gatwick, but, it would mean going an extra 50 miles or so through Abergavenny and Hay on Wye, I don't think it'll be a worry, I hope :fingers:

I'm glad I laways go the day before and have a night at the Hilton Gatwick, otherwise I'd have to leave home at 1am to catch my flight, oye vey!

just booked the gatwick "europa" for the night before, got a good deal on booking.com, our family room was £67 and the in laws double was £39,. is a very swish hotel too, lovely pool and spa (why i booked it haha)

Ruby, I'll be easy to spot, the old bag wandering around on her own with a huge grin on her face that comes with having no kids in tow :D I'll be wearing a Cymru shirt on the 14th when we beat England lol. So if you spot me say hello! That goes for anyone else there at the same time.

I booked the Hilton through lastminute.com, £67 including breakfast for a single room. With the parking for 19 days coming in at just over £40 I've done well, last year I paid £180 for the room, no breakfast and 15 days parking doing it through Hilton's own site, pays to look around.

I'm all packed and ready to go, setting off 8am tomorrow morning. I'll keep an eye out for you too! Another clue about me is that I'm sure to be munching on some tasty treat, bring on those funnel cakes!!
