Honeymooning at WDW
Have any of you went on your honeymoon to WDW???
What may you decide to chose WDW?
Were you ever at WDW prior to your honeymoon?
What hotel did you stay at?
What was your favorite restaurant?
What was your favorite ride?
What was your most romantic moment?
Did you get preferential treatment anywhere?
Did you do something special and out of the ordinary?
Basically tell us all about it and give some newly married couples some hints or tips on what to do? Please feel free to share your favorite memory or moment from your honeymoon if you want....
Thanks for sharing!!!:D

I know I have probably posted this before, but what the heck. My new husband and I went to WDW for our honeymoon and the first thing my new prince and I got were bride and groom Mickey ears, and let me tell you they made our whole trip! We were given front row seats, we got small gifts, people took our picture, free advice, and our favorite..we got to ride major rides all by ourselves! We purchased the picture of us on splash mountain because we were in a log all alone What a memory! Our first night in Disney we went to the magic kingdom {of course} and ending up eating a very late dinner, well when we finally finished eating we realized that the park was closed and we were basically all alone on main street! One of the best memories I have is standing in front of the beautifully lit castle with no one around hugging like it was all just for us. We have some video of "our" light show with the music in the backround..it is truly magic!
As for the other questions:
I always wanted to go to WDW and neither of us had ever been. I won a trip to Hawaii but my DH let us toss it in order to go to WDW. Now that is love ;)
I think all the rest are answered :) There are tons of threads on this subject so I'm sure if you did a search you would get tons of information :)

Yeah. I love this topic.
Husband and I went to WDW in April 98. Stayed at Wilderness Lodge for 1 week.
We chose Disney because we simply wanted to get away from it all. Lounging on a beach I can still sometimes be worried about sisters and parents etc. At disney you are so distracted it's a great thing. And husband had never been before.
Our first park was Magic Kingdom. (We had no idea about the ears. Why didn't I know Shelly back then!) My husband loved it. Most restaurants did something special for us. They would overdecorate the table with confetti, or something. At Chef Mickey's on our one week anniversary our waitress made us this little cupcake desert thing then serenaded us. It was so sweet.
We met another couple honeymooning but the wife commented that she didn't tell anyone as she didn't want any embarassment. Her choice.
As I've mentioned before the most romantic thing we did was watch the EWP from the beach at Wilderness Lodge.
We used our flex feature for pics with Mickey from Downtown Disney. I love that picture. We sent pics to our friends and families via the email stations at Innoventions in Epcot. They've all kept them, sometimes they send them back to us on our anniversary and ask if we still look this happy.
It was wonderful. Some of my friends think it was silly for us to go there, but my husband and I had known each other for 4 years prior to even dating. Then dated for 3. We've had a lot of time to look longingly at one another. It was better for us to be zooming around on rides for our honeymoon. To each his own.

I see this thread was started way back in July but I'll answer some of the ???'s since the average wedding takes a year or more to plan :)
We had our Honeymoon at WDW in Sept.97' during WDW's 25th anniversary party. And it was wonderful!!
We decided to honeymoon their because we not only loved to vacation there but originally we were going to be married there as well. Unfortuneatly, my dh's brother and and 2 cousins (one of which was going to marry in Chicago - and the whole family was from N.J.) within the same year (dh's brother married only 1 month after we did) and we decided to have the wedding back home due to the fact that the family wouldn't be able to afford the airfare and their stays with so many other weddings all around the same time:p , so we ended up having a really extravegant honeymoon to remember at WDW:D
We stayed at the GF for the 1st 2 nights- when they found out we were on our honeymoon, they upgraded us from a standard room to a suite!! It was so incredible!! While there, they also sent us a complimentary bottle of champagne with a rose which we took down to the beach and watched the fireworks over the castle at MK. That was my favorite and most romantic memory;)
From the GF we then moved to Dixie Landings resort for 1 week and stayed in the alligator byou section. Had a wonderful time there as well. Not as much special treatment though from the hotel itself. With all the extras going on though with the 25th anniversary party it was so much fun. The extra Spectromagic parades that went on, fireworks at MK everynight as well as over at Epcot. We did E-ticket night and because of the time of the year we had the park almost to ourselves. We really had a blast. We also got lots of complimentary glasses of champagne at the resturaunts as well as complimentary desserts with congratulations written in chocholate whenever they found out we were on our honeymoon.
We then spent the next 3 nights in a studio size room at Disney's Vero Beach resort -- that's when we joined DVC too lol. It was beautiful and a great way to wind down and just relax and enjoy the ocean and the resort itself at the end of such a busy vacation in the parks. They sent us another complimentary bottle of champagne and along with it chocholate covered strawberries with a chocholate mickey mouse and the strawberries looked like tuxedo's. It was so wonderful throughout the entire honeymoon.
And then we returned home to reality -- and have returned every year since:ears: :ears:
Have a wonderful wedding day and an even more wonderful honeymoon and married life!!

What a great topic everyone :)
Me and my fiancee are getting married May 31 and we leave for our 7-day land and sea WDW vacation the next day (June 1), and I can't wait.
Both of us have been before, but it's been a while for both of us. My fiancee was there just before MGM opened, so that's quite a while for her while I was there back in the summer of '95 when I was working on the WDW College Program in Typhoon Lagoon. I had been with family prior to that.
I CANNOT WAIT:bounce: Even though I've been before, this time will be with just my wife and no one else. We'll be staying at the Wilderness Lodge while we're there, and we have a stateroom w/ a private verandah on the cruise. The Wilderness Lodge had not been opened very long when I was working there in '95, so I really never had a chance to check out the hotel. I've posted an interest in hearing about the Wilderness Lodge on a different thread, so feel free to post your thoughts on the Wilderness Lodge there! Also, they had just announced plans for the Animal Kingdom just before I left in '95, so I'm also looking forward to checking that out as well.
Honeymooning there had just been something I had always wanted to do for as long as I've been interested in Disney. It really wasn't that hard to convince my fiancee that's where I wanted to go. She was pretty agreeable:)
