I'm going to Orlando for 21 days in sept but ive never driven abroad before let alone in America. We are renting a car and i didnt know if it would be worth us getting a Sat Nav to help us on our travels? I'm worried about getting lost on our first day trying to find the hotel because not very good at reading a map.
Does anyone have any recommendations for me? Where can i rent a sat nav and how much would it be? We have our holiday with VH but i think when we asked about Sat Nav it was alot of money. Can anyone give me some prices and sites i can look at and cosider?
Thanks
Tinkabell xx

I'd buy one. The TomTom 125 runs around $120 or so these days, I know last time I rented a car they wanted $14/day for a Sat. Lucky for me, I brought mine from home

Your tour operator should give you some simple to follow instructions to get you to your hotel. If not, ask your rental company and they will help. If you are staying at WDW then it's easy to find your way around - as long as you don't miss the turn out from MCO to the Greenway it's pretty much a straight run.

not staying on site at WDW, stayin in kissimmee. im not very good at remembering and following instructions told to me before i drive because i concentrate on driving i forget what has been said to me lol this is why i thought a sat nav would make my life a little easier. lol xx

Hi, I am just taking our own sat nav with us. It is a Garmin and reads the american SD cards - you can get a florida only SD card for about £12. The Garmin itself was my xmas pressie. You can even preload on your routes and favourite paces ready! Not used it yet but hope it will make the trip smoother in July!

It was a Nuvi 205, - I think most in this range seem to accpet american cards. I got the SD card off ebay shop - just searched for Florida SD card (not a North America map as these are more money!) I do like my sat nav as like you I am not very good with maps or directions. On this on you can save everything in the Favourites part and then just click Go! isnt technology amazing?

Get directions from the internet on how to drive from the airport to Wal Mart. Go in your rented car and buy a nav. I just rented one while in the DC area for a 4 day weekend and it made driving a breeze.

We bought a sat nav from the US on ebay, it was very cheap and all ready had the mapping. We did it this way because we figured we would just resell it, but we have had friends rent it from us for their trips!!

Just checked how much the maps were £27
Although if you have a Garmin they will charge you £150
