We have a 2006 and it will fit 7 but you will be left with NO luggage storage. Also, there is very minimal leg room in the third row seat.

Is this for your LA trip or Orlando? We've booked one for Vegas next week so I can LYK but i'm sure it's only a 7 seater. We had a 7 seater SUV from Alamo and it was a Jeep Commander, nowhere near big enough for the 6 of us with luggage. We've booked a Durango for the 4 of us this trip and that's me packing light.

this is for the Cali/Vegas trip...but for the vegas part same as you Paula.
we fly on the 31st and need this for the 11th april
we are meeting up with friends and that part of our trip...so it will mean 4 adults and 4 kids...although were doing a helicoptor trip we thought it would be nice to have a car for 2 days to frive down the strip, red rock canyon and also hoover dam.
we wanted a car for a airport pick up and hotel drop off....looks like its only Dollar that will do that....they havent got an 8 seater van..but they do a full size suv...dodge durango or similar..admittedly Dollar do say its a 7 seater..(5 adults, 2kids)..but the dodge website say its 8 seats.....as everyone has confirmed abaove..this must be for this years model only...so were not going to risk it and now were going to get 2 cars

 Probably best not to risk it in case they are not brand new models.

Paula, with only 4 of you you will have PLENTY of luggage room in the Durango. With 7 there is not much luggage room unless you put a lot of stuff on the roof. The DURANGO WILL NOT seat 8 unless you put 3 small children in the 3rd seat. I'm not even sure there are seatbelts for 3 in that seat but I will check when I get home tonight.

Just wanted to add on to this thread to say that our SUV through Dollar was an 8 seater, but wasn't a Durango. We were given a Chrysler Aspen which was really nice.

We have the Premium SUV catagory through Dollar this summer too
:thanks: Paula for letting us know what else we could get apart from the advertised Dodge Durango ... the Chrysler Aspen (http://www.chrysler.com/en/2009/aspen/) looks lovely too

We've decided to book one for our next few trips too, it was so nice. It even had a camera for reversing. We took some photos of the boot space etc. so people could see. Just have to plough through thousands of pics to find them! :hehe:

Here are the pics showing the boot space as a 5 seater and as an 8 seater.

Paula - thanks for the pics, that vehicle looks wonderful.
We are so undecided as to what to book for our trip . Last time we booked a minivan & were upgraded (FOC) to a Durango (5-str but top of the range with all imaginable extras including dvd screens, which were a real hit with the children). This trip there will be 5 of us (DH, me, DD18, FDD16, DS14) & I quite fancy the idea of being able to spread out a bit. Do we go for a minivan or 7-str 4x4?
