Hi I have got a UK sat nav Garmin and got a Florida SD card, but just thought it mainly works by plugging in to a cars cigerette lighter port - is this the same in the US as we will be hiring the car and need to know if I can plug it in to charge and make it work. So do US cars have cigerette ports or something similar for car charging items?
Any info appreciated!

In newer cars it's just a charging outlet, to get an actual lighter requires a special order now

So it sounds like either way I should be OK as the charging outlet I assume would be the same shape as items that would have fit in to a cigerette lighter port?

If you get the Florida one only it is £12 I got it off ebay there are several on their just search 'Florida SD map'. Seems accurate and good and a lot cheaper then getting a US SD card which was £40. Hoping it will make life easier!
