Hi, We are flying to orlando with Thomas Cook and I cant see anywhere on their website that would indicate what we are allowed to take.
I want to take some tea bags and coffee, I would be putting it into my main suitcase. Also the kids want to take snacks onto the plane to eat on the way in their hand luggage. I want to get them before we go in order to avoid expensive airport charges.
Does anyone know if this is allowed?

I take snacks sometimes like pringles etc for the plane, i have never taken coffee or tea bags i prefer the coffee in the US, however i will take tea bags next time the mother in law comes with us (i dont drink tea)...She drove me crazy, as she complained about the tea in the parks etc, she said it was like dish water lol... :)

You cannot take meat products, fresh fruit or vegetables into the US. Other than that most other food stuffs are OK.

I came across a site www.gardengrocer.com (http://www.gardengrocer.com) they specialize in delivering food and such to the parks fro resort guests; and they have a section on British foods.
I'm going to have some things delivered to our cabin in Aug. just to make the mornings a little easier...and not having to transport it makes it even better.

If you are taking snacks for the kids on the plane, just remember to bin anything that contains meat or fruit before landing. At Tampa last year there was a very friendly dog sniffing up the queue for immigration and a surprising number of people had kept things like the sandwiches from the flight and had to hand them over. Crisps, biscuits, etc are all fine to take through if the kids don't eat them during the flight. We tend to take pringles as they are resealable.
We take various bits over for our friends who live in the US (a box of 48 mars bars was the most extreme!) but there are daft things that catch people out - for example, you can't take Bovril as it is beef extract.
Also, without wishing to state the obvious, there are still the restrictions on fluids so if you want to take drinks onboard for the kids, then you'll need to buy these from somewhere after passport control (Boots airside at LGW is usually good).

We tend to take T bags, along with cereal snack bars (usually lots & lots as very useful to take to the parks) in hold luggage. Otherwise we buy everything else on arrival.

I always take sandwiches on the plane, and some snacks, as the smell of aeroplane food usually makes me want to be ill (sorry if its TMI!), but like everyone else says, just make sure its eaten or thrown away before landing if it is in your handluggage :)
