Hi there,
My boyfriend and I are heading to DW at the end of the month and like everyone else we need to save some money on our passes. We are both students and are really in need of this vacation, but because of tuition costs on the rise, we have to watch what we spend.
Where can we go for the best price for our passes?
Is the Disney Dining plan the best way to go or is it cheaper to buy on our own?
We appreciate your words of wisdom.

Wow your trip is almost here.
As far as passes, if you dont' plan to park hop then buying a multi day pass without the park hopper option would probably be as cheap as you can find. How many days will you be in the parks, will you be staying on site? The DDP is only available if you are on site.
At this late date, if you have made no ADRs (Advance Dining Reservations) then finding a place to have a sit down dinner at Disney may be a problem as they are bookable 90 days prior to arrival. If you can fill us in with a few more details we would be happy to help with your planning.

Just a few notes. If you have a reservation on Disney property and want to add the DDP you have to do that before you arrive. They will not add it on when you arrive. If you do not have any reservations on a resort either on or off property and are hoping to just get one when you walk in I recommend you get a reservation soon as I am having problems booking for my clients this close. I will tell you that Disney has a Summer price right now and if you don't have a room and wish to contact me I will be more then happy to see what I can get for you. You can fill in a quote form by clicking on the link underneath my name and put my name where it says Travel Counselor. If you already have reservations off site and wish to buy tickets only I am able to order them for you or you can buy them at the resort or the gate.

HI,
Thanks for your quick response. Our trip is for 7 days, but we might take a dayor two to go to Daytona or Tampa at the end of the trip.
Yes we are staying at a Disney property as my parents are DVC members.
I have been to DW a couple of times before, but I have always gone with my family and have never been part of the planning process which is another reason why I need some assistance and because of our money constraints I want to be able to have the most enjoyable trip possible without blowing the bank.
I appreciate your help with this. Please let me know if you need any other info.

Like USCWest mentioned, you need to call 407-WDW-DINE to make your dining reservations if you want to take advantage of the DDP (Disney Dining Plan). The DDP consists of 1 snack/1 counter service/1 sit-down table service restaurant PER PERSON PER NIGHT of your visit. Do you have any ideas of where you would like to eat?
If you aren't in to eating at many (or any) sit down dining restaurants, Disney now offers a QSDP (Quick Service Dining Plan) that would give you 2 snacks/2 counter service restaurants/ 2 refillable (at your resort) mugs. Since you are watching your money, this may be the best option for the two of you.
If you don't want to go either route, I suggest taking a look at the menu's (http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/menus.html) and finding CS restaurants where the food is big enough for the two of you to share.
Since you are staying at a DVC resort, you have access to a fridge (and kitchenette ) so maybe bringing some of your own food (cereal/milk, fruit, etc.) is something to think about to cut down on the costs of some of the expenditures.
If you don't get park hopping tickets, you will save $100 .

Buy uk disney tickets on ebay.co.uk and get them shipped to the us, 14 day hopper £235 per person = $384. This is the disney r.r.p and they usually go for cheaper than this!
